in my christian thought class in college, the professor gave us an interesting perspective: jesus lived and died for us so that we could see there is no need to fear death. we are fragile, made of clay, in a world that will easily destroy you and kill you. it's scary to be made of clay. and so god came down and became clay, and died, and came back to life to show us there's no need to fear death. so now we can live TRULY free lives, with not even the fear of death holding us back.

Sorry for being so late getting in on all of these very thought provoking discussions! I have been on my spiritual journey for almost 6 years now and I'm really loving it and obtaining as much knowledge as I can along the way. As you likely know truth is hard to find and I'm a truth seeking Christian at heart and yes I agree with you completely Julie, that hell is totally a man-made belief used to strike fear into the masses, and actually it's origins are not from Judah. I read another book called Razing Hell by Sharon L. Baker lol and I could barely put that book down it was so interesting. The hellfire belief seeped into the Jewish culture and belief system through the persians and Zoroastrianism which is why it could very well be a doctrine of demons, which I believe it is. I hope what you were saying about Jesus and the second death is further explained in your book. I really want to understand that completely. Either way I really badly want to read your book, it sounds super interesting! Thank you for everything you are donig to help Christians around the world wake up from this terrible brainwashing doctrine. Take care and God bless.

Hi Julie, Great background! Do you accept the Scripture that says that God bought us with His own blood? Acts 20:28, "Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood." This was Jesus' blood, confirming 2 things: Blood was necessary and we could only be redeemed by God's blood. Thanks, Julie

See my reply to Christ Follower above. 😇 I believe that the New Testament points us to applying the spirit of the law on all counts. It is the literalist view that gets us into trouble. Of course, we had the literal, natural world acting out of the realities of the Spirit, but Paul and the NT writers make clear that it was all a shadow, and that we should apply the spirit of the law to everything. Leviticus reveals that the life is in the blood. The purchase by the blood is the giving of one's life for others, which is what we are all to do, spiritually speaking! Obviously when Paul says he's crucified with Christ, he isn't speaking literally, but he's putting on the Spiritual meaning. The letter kills...the spirit gives life.

@@RaisingHell Thanks, Julie, I'm not sure my question was addressed. Acts was written by Luke, not Paul. Jesus' sacrifice wasn't spiritual, but actual. The blood sacrifice of Jesus was based on the Old Testament sacrifices such as Leviticus, which could only cover sin and never take it away. jesus' sacrifice was a one-off and final. John 19:30 "It is finished" (completed, paid in full) - only Jesus could have uttered these words, sin He was sinless. The sacrifices of Leviticus were shadows of the New Testament and Jesus' sacrifice on the Cross. "It is the literalist view that gets us into trouble." Only if it's taken out of context and not meant to be taken literally: we know that Jesus 'literally' died on a Cross. We know that 'literally' He was buried and arose again. There is the danger that literal events can be 'spiritualized' also, Julie, when it's not appropriate. What do you believe Jesus achieved on the Cross, if anything? Thanks, Julie

We have perfect free will, but sin is destruction. We aren't our destruction, that's satans work through us. Satan uses our freewill to harm the world, but our true soul is pure. Once we die, satan flees from us because of how pure our soul is. Our true freewill also aligns with God's perfect will, but satan uses our freewill to cause harm.

You got me with that title. I was coming to post some truth about how God saves ALL of his creation. lol. Nice to see more people that God has let in on the secret for this eon. Gonna watch some more videos of yours. I'll admit I don't know if I know exactly what you are saying yet. I've learned that Jesus death saved us from death. Not hell. And by death I mean non existence. It tells us in ecclesiastes that the dead know nothing. The body and the soul go in to the grave, and the spirit that gave the body life goes back to God. So basically when we die, we stay asleep until our order in the resurrection. Time will have gone by instantly for us. So if all are saved then why did Jesus die? He died so we didn't have to stay dead. Jesus quite literally saved us from sin and death. I'll watch more and see what you have to say. It's very intriguing to hear your insight.

I agree with you that eternal hell is a false doctrine, but you are mistaken in the fact that the Jesus did not have to die for our sins. The Old Testament makes it clear that blood is needed to atone for sins. Jesus did more than just clean sin from the world. He open the doors of heaven for those that had not ascended yet. Your mistake is that you think that the OT does not apply to us any more and your could not be further from the truth. Jesus said if you love me keep my commandments.... which commandments is his talking about? Think about it, he did not have the New Testament..
@RaisingHell8 ай бұрын
There are a few verses that might help you sort this out. Go and learn what this means. I desire Mercy, not sacrifice and knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings. Mat 9:9-13 For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. Psalm 51:16 A sacrifice you did not require... Ps 40:6-8 The sacrificial system was a way that the establishment helped people get over the guilt of their sins, but it was never necessary.
@homemadetheology8 ай бұрын
@@RaisingHell In Mat 9:9-13 Jesus is quoting Hosea 6, speaks of the fact that if our hearth is not right sacrifice is of no use. Psalm 51 is the same, sacrifice is useless if you are disobedient. In the same way Jesus said “if you love me, obey my commandments” It was necessary that Christ died. No forgiveness of sin with out sacrifice. Just because we do not go to hell it does not mean that the wicked will not pay for their wickedness

Jesus dying was an end to sacrificing animals butt animals are still being killed for food..🤣
@JackNad3r4 жыл бұрын
A man is out walking one day and he slips and falls into the mud. Note that his initial state is clean but after his fall he is filthy. He knows that in order to be clean he must first repent. Repentance is a complete change of mind. In order to repent he must first see himself as filthy and then consciously want to turn away from his uncleanness. The problem is, no matter how much he might want to be clean it is actually impossible for him to do it on his own. Nothing in the natural world can fix or heal itself by itself. - Can a bent ruler straighten itself? No. Can the body heal itself without the sacrifice of food? No. Can a dull knife sharpen itself? No. Can a stained carpet remove its own stain? No. Can a dented car remove its own dent? No. - For the man to be reconciled back to his original clean state he knows that he must go home and take a shower. The moment that he stands under the flowing water it will transfer the mans uncleanliness to itself. Now ask yourself, does the water ever refuse this exchange? No. It freely sacrifices its own purity and then imputes it to the man. This act reconciles the man back to his original clean state while at the same time condemning the mud. Now note what I just said. The problem with the man is he must be “separated” from his unclean state and the only way this can be achieved is through sacrifice. In other words, something that is righteous must lay down its righteousness and impute it to the entity in disfavor. Then, since it has lost its own righteousness, it must suffer the penalty of the law. The law demands that the wages of sin is death. - This is the core of the gospel message. Mankind is in a fallen state. God wants to reconcile man back to Himself. However because God is just, the only way this can be done is by imputing righteousness to man. God sends His son Jesus Christ to the earth and sacrifices Him on the cross and then lays down His wrath upon Him to condemn sin. This is identical to the man and the water parable outlined above. Gods wrath is upon sin, not man. If man is joined to sin then His wrath must be upon man as well. That is the law and yet we also see the other side of the equation. God is also showing how much He loves us that He would freely give His only begotten son in order to reconcile us back to Himself. - Now in saying that, what do you suppose happened to the mud? Well, it flowed down the drain, through the pipes and out into the river. Eventually the mud settled out of the water and was nailed to the river floor. The same water that condemned the mud, delivered the mans skin clean. That is the message of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Just as the filthy man had faith in the water to deliver him clean, so is our faith that Christ was crucified for our sins.

Hi Julie, I am sorry but you are preaching a different gospel. First how can you go against what the Bible says very clearly “without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins” You do not understand that unrighteousness has to be dealt with. “The wages of sin is death” in many forms be it spiritual or physical. God sent Jesus because He loves us enough for Him not to get rid of us. You are not understanding the gospel at all. The second death you are talking about is a wrong understanding of what the second death is in the Bible, the second death is a permanent death you can say it is a death of destruction in the Lake of fire which you can read in the book of Revelation. Jesus died for many reasons one is to allow the Father to bring to life everyone who ever lived, He also died so that God does not have to destroy us but allow Him to change us and prepare us to unite to Him and share of His glory, God’s justice and Love came together at the cross of Christ.

There is a great post about this by Jeremy Myers (a seminary graduate) where he fully demonstrates why the verse you quoted had nothing to do with salvation or forgiveness of sins. It's located at: redeeminggod.com/hebrews-9-22-shedding-of-blood-forgiveness-of-sins/. "Unrighteousness" is the Latin word for injustice. The only real sin that needs to be dealt with is injustice, and that's why Jesus said that if you love your neighbor as yourself, you have fulfilled the whole law! There is no biblical teaching of the second death being permanent. In fact, in 1 Corinthians 15 it says that death is destroyed or swallowed up for all time, How is this possible if people are in some kind of state of death forever? I believe it is you and anyone teaching hell and eternal torment, and some kind of monstrous god requiring a blood sacrifice who is preaching a different gospel. The Gospel means good news. IN fact, the Greek word euaggelion actually means "nearly too good to be true." It cannot at the same time mean too horrendous to be true. It can only be good.
@fcastellanos574 жыл бұрын
Raising Hell I am sure anybody can interpret any verse in a way to suit their understanding. You can’t get away from a final judgement, you have to disregard all Jesus said or erroneously interpret it. Where do you think Love comes from? And about a second death which is permanent, this is called the Lake of Fire, Jesus talks about such place and also the book of Revelation. The death being swallowed up by life refers to the resurrection of the just, not the second death. People are not going to be in a state of death forever, those who are cast into the Lake of Fire and destroyed. Jesus was prophesied hundred of years before he came and he came to substitute the animal sacrifices for himself. It seems you do not understand this if you consider it to be monstrous. God had to do this to be able to forgive us, the second person of the Trinity became a man, or God became a man to be a substitute for humanity. Remember John 3:16, For God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten son so that whosoever believes in him do not perish but have everlasting life. How can you go around this verse? The gospel is good news, the good news that God has given mankind a way of scape His justice. Adam and Eve’s disobedience gave the whole humanity the capacity to sin and therefore the payment for sin is death but God has come to take care of that so that we do not die forever. That is the good news. You are taking away the justice of God when you preach that everyone will be forgiven without repentance, that is not going to happen and the Bible is clear about this, you seem to have gone from one end of the pendulum to the other. God is not going to torture people forever, He is going to get rid of those who prefer unrighteousness instead of righteousness, God cannot do otherwise, He is a consuming fire as the scriptures say. That article you gave me to read is very wrong. We can forgive someone’s faults against us because God forgave us first, and for Him to forgive us, someone needs to die, that author has a very small concept of how God is. Can God lie, can God be dishonest or unloving? That is against His nature, God does not make rules just to make them or to make our lives hard, what He does is because that is who He is and what we perceive as Laws are part of His character that He can’t change, the Bible says the wages of sin is death, or without the shedding of blood, sin cannot be taken care of, arbitrary? We may think so but that is because we do not understand God, He is who He is and I believe He is justice and Love at the same time that is why Jesus fulfilled His love and His justice on the cross . If we do not understand what sin is then we don’t understand why Jesus had to die. God’s nature is such that anything contrary to His nature is obliterated. So Jesus not only redeemed us from our inheritance to sin and death but allowed us to be reborn spiritually to be prepared for the New heavens and the New earth. Like Paul says, flesh and blood cannot inherit incorruption, that is why we will receive immortality like Jesus did at His resurrection.

Marita Hartmann Thanks for your invitation but I know my Bible and I know Julie is in error. Taking judgement out of God is preaching another God and another gospel. You and many others may not like the God of the Bible, but remember, how God has given us His son so that we can be saved from His judgment. God is both Love but He is also Judgement you can’t separate the two and He has satisfied both at the Cross of His son, to believe something different is to believe a different gospel, not the one preached by Jesus, the apostles, or Paul.
