great episode. ironically enough, maybe 2 months ago, was wondering exactly this, from a science pov. your previous, "[x] echo illusion", is such a great way to accurately describe that phenomenon. it has stuck with me (since ep.72). that along with theory of mind/world model really opens up the Nature of humanity in a more analytical/scientific endeavor. (and for me, analytically/scientifically helps shut down the common idea of "machines (currently) becoming humans"). thanks for sharing…

Very interesting lecture! Thank you for presenting this. How much does current culture influence what is funny? I have noticed that what was funny when I was a kid (50s-early 60s), kids don't find funny, and what my adult kids find funny today (30s-40s) I don't get. The concepts of humor possess a consistency in pattern construction with a cultural influence?!

The 2 best central nervous system releases are laughing and crying, and our go-to is usually laughter. Because it feels good a nice positive release. My go-to if I'm feeling alexithymic is jump scare humor, which is such a feel-good euphoric feeling a nice boost. I also have a dark side of humor, shock humor is a fun one and will include some too soon off humor. Sometimes my autism/adhd need that outside the box humor!!🤔🤭 Thanks for the fun thoughts on this. The AI may have intended to be putting a spin on the fact the crab is a shell and shell out for. The other perspective could be the crab always shells out cash for peanut butter. It's just mostly a dud factor all around with presentation.👻🤪🌶🤘😎♾️

AI can be witty. I asked Meta a question about Elon Musk; it gave an answer. I then asked if 'grok' would give a similar answer. Meta replied saying the information would be much the same, but there would probably include some sort of Martian Mysterism. I thought that was pretty funny. 😅

I also didn't find it amusing... Overall it just created a story failing in constructing a joke. Did you honestly laugh? The way I see it is it failed at connecting variables in a meaningful amusing way: 3 actors enter a store type of joke, butter in the _seafood_ section and "shelling out" (since protagonists are seafood), the last lobster goes to the right section (pantry) but since it wants something else it is confronted for the "final pun", peanut butter allergy is a common issue but it was associated the other way around (never heard of butter allergy, intolerance perhaps?), allergy symptoms were attempted to be both connected to seafood, but lobsters don't have shells (the model would have to get that)... Probably you may find more incoherences if you keep looking. Sure, if you throw a bunch of stuff together something might be funny, I've seen kids also attempting this when trying to create a new joke. It's a similar logic of that book that solves 50% of your problems: just one more will solve them all 😂

@@andanssas no I didn’t feel the joke was funny but that’s a personal preference. Lobster do have shell , which is why his early joke about them being “shell fish” sounding like selfish was suppose to make it funny.

​@@richardjaffe9972 thank you for explaining, just checked the definition of _crustaceous_ and besides considering animals with crust, it includes those with shell... 🤯 So not being a native English speaker would also be an issue to get the joke

@@AttackChefDennis I get the joke, but it could be improved. Particles don't 'walk' thus unlikely to 'walk' into a Black Hole; drunks however do 'fall' as well as 'walk'. also the term "fall into a Black Hole" is already in us, hence using the term in a twisted way.
