I have hunted elk for 25 years and have harvested 22 elk with my bow.. I have heard every sound he makes in the field and never knew what they were saying. I am so excited to go into the field and call me a cow elk in for my wife and me. We have a lot of elk in AZ. I am a lazy hunter and do my scouting all year. OK not winter. We get into elk any time of the day but when half your forest is burnt down sneaking is sooo hard. I long for the dark timber..

Hey Dennis! You'll want to experiment with various brands and models of diaphragm calls. Try them all out until something works for you. Different calls work for different people, so what works for Paul may not work for you in the slightest.

I give Paul the credit for my bull last year, I listened and made it happen in December. I called in my bull in December with a combo of cow calling light and breaking big sticks the bull gave me the attention grunt, we went back and forth with that and moved in on each other he popped right out a 60+ yards no shot, I was able to hold him in there for over 5 minutes while he tried to leave 2-3 times. Cow calls light and stick-breaking, would bring him back as he was leaving, he finally gave me a 68-yard shot and I made it count. Thanks, Paul.
