EP 8 Diu to Shri Somnath Dham | Gaulok Dham mBhalka Teertha, Ahilya Bai temple,

We started our day from Diu and after doing a journey of 90 km we reached Shri Somnath Dham.
This tour was started on 22nd feb from Rajkot, we went to Junagadh, Gir, Diu, Somnath ji, Dwakra ji and then ended our journrey at Jamnagar
Following are the activities we did on this day,
1. Diu - Sea beach - Jallandhar beach
2. Sagar darshan guest house - i paid rs 1890 tariff for guest house, this was after 25 percent discount.
3. Shri Somnath Dham temple - we went for darshan in the temple. videography inside the temple was not allowed.
4. Ahilya Bai temple - This temple is adjacent to Shri Somnath Temple.
5. Triveni sangam - we did a short 15 min boat ride to go to the sangam point.
6. Gaulok Dham
7. Bhalka Teertha
8. Kaka sandwich - Veeraval
9. Gujarat food dinner adjacent to Somnath temple
9. Light and sound show at the temple

There is a pillar in the premises of Somnath temple. This is known as Baan Stambh (Arrow Pillar). It is difficult to say that since what time it is there. Going back by taking history as reference, we reached somewhere in the sixth century, where this Baan Stambh is mentioned. However, that does not prove that it has been built in the sixth century. It is not possible to tell exactly how old this Baan Stambh is. On the Pole it is inscribed that: " आसमुद्रान्त दक्षिण ध्रुव पर्यंत अबाधित ज्योतिर्मार्ग " This means - there is no hindrance in the straight line from this point to the south. Of course, there is no piece of land in this path. This is a wonderful indicator of the ancient Indian wisdom. At that time when world was merely learning how to survive; our ancestors had found unique location? How is it possible? Moreover, if this is really, we have the global heritage of a very rich knowledge. The meaning of this single line, written in Sanskrit, has many mysterious meanings. This line has a direct meaning that from the point of the Somnath temple to the Antarctic, there is no land or plot in the middle, if one pulls a straight line. Now what is the fact..? In today's age of this technology, it will be easy to detect. Nevertheless, this is not as easy as that. If you look up the Google Map or Google Earth, you can see this entire concept.

Harishji, purani yaade taaza ho gai. Maza aa gaya. Keep it up. In Gujarat, people like to eat Khichdi and Kadhi as a night meal , may be with some gravy like sabji. This is based on Ayurvedic principles of keeping night meal the lightest. Khichdi is carb + protein and Kadhi is probiotics due to curd in it. In Gujarat, Kadhi is also made with fresh Amba Haldi, yellow and orange turmeric which is available in Winters. Have you ever heard of AamRas Kadhi named Fajeto from Gujarat ? I bet most non-gujarati people haven't. This is specifically made during Summer time when " Keri no Ras" meaning Aam Ras is available. This is one of favourite recipe of famous cookbook writer and actress Madhur Jaffrey who has termed Gujarati cuisine as " The Haute Cuisine of Vegetarianism " in her TV series " Flavours of India " - Haute is French word meaning High , Fancy or should I say Ultimate. 😀 Eating at least one meal together with all family members is to make family bond stronger.
