More soon.. took a few days off to start fixing my studio, a large part of the reason for the lack of building content has been a truly uninspiring space to work in with most of the tools I need hidden or lost.. that ends now! Hey Ben, watching you inlay is cathartic for me. Do you find the material matters? I did a small amount of chisel work yesterday with some Purple Heart. I never want to work that stuff with a chisel again. Cherry was really nice. Sapele and maple too, but that purple stuff was splintery as hell. My fingers were torn up.

By adding an extra thick piece of wood to the face of the headstock, aren't you raising the peg head and taking alot of the angle out, making a possible buzz and the extra thickness may make the tuners not fit at all. I'm probably wrong and you will figure it all out!

i just stopped the video because at the 2:10 mark, u spoke of (as a result of the kits) having quite a few things that were not "quite up to spec". Any chance u might (in the severely near future) consider off loading those items as a sub Crimson line? maybe call it CCG and have no official Crimson branding on it, but advertise it as "for the beginning luthier, or for the builder on a budget" or something like that? it'd be a way to make some coin on an otherwise not distributed product and spread a little affordability to some sots who would love to get into luthiery, but are hesitant due to cost prohibitions and or lack of router skills. any chance of something like this potentially happening? just wanted to ask. now on with the rest of the video. thanks for being awesome btw

You could set up a router sledge so the base would go over the fretboard, however free handing routing is just as scary, possibly could use a template and a pattern bit but that would leave the corners needing chiseling. My advice would be to practice paring in some different scrap woods, nice sharp chisel and pay attention to how the grain behaves to the direction of cut from the chisel. You will get feedback through the chisel either it will gluide like a knife through butter or feel rough/vibrate . Take little slices at at time Hope this helps 👍
