Same! My best friend and I absolutely pined for him and Eddie Furlong. We used to imagine one of us married to Eddie, the other to Johnathan and we'd all grow old together. I was really sad when Brandis died. I had a chat with someone via KZbin comments who says she was either his aunt or cousin (It was a while ago, I can't remember) but she SWEARS he didn't off himself and that it was a setup. She seemed so sincere but you never know these days. Rest in peace, JB. ❤

I was obsessed with this man since the SideKicks movie with Chuck Norris (since I was a little kid in the 90s). He's one celebrity I'll never forget, and a death I'll never get over. 😔 To go from getting 4000 fan letters a day, seeing his own face on the covers of countless magazines every week, and needing three security guards to make his way to the film set- to being a completely unknown face and name in the entertainment industry (to the point that all of his scenes were cut from a major film) has _got_ to be an extreme fall that most humans can't mentally bounce back from. I so wish that his life and career panned out differently. I'll never stop loving his work, and hope that he is at peace now. 🙏🏿

Thankyou for highlighting someone so memorable from our childhood, I definitely had posters of him on my wall and on my book covers. I am sad that not only did he pass way too young but todays generation have no idea who he is. Even if they have seen the sequel to the Neverending story they still have no concept of what he meant to the generation that precedes them. For international audiences Seaquest DSV was the biggest show on network television. For the Australian audience we did not have cable tv, we only had access to a handful of channels so shows like this were a very big deal, every household watched it.

16:10 - I’m absolutely certain every boy i went to middle school with had the shirt he’s wearing in this scene. I was generally a typical adolescent girl regarding crushes (although not yet identifying as bi), but I never understood this teen celebrity boy crazy stuff, or most of pop culture, or most of the way other girls/kids that age thought and behaved. And that hasn’t changed as I’ve grown older. Physical attraction has always been secondary to relating to someone’s personality/mind, I can recognize when someone might be considered attractive, but I’m only attracted to strangers if there’s something about them that reminds me of the one person I have real feelings for, and I’m able to separate that from any idea of being interested in someone else. So there’s been a lot of times when I found it hard to relate to other girls or women gabbing about “how hot so and so is”. I know I’m not alone in this, but I think I must also be in a minority regarding it. BTW, I hope it doesn’t sound like I think that makes me superior in any way. I mean, when I was a teen/tween I did feel some animosity and disdain towards the kids I couldn’t relate to on the this stuff, but that hasn’t been the case for a long time, even if I still don’t get it. And, of course, Brandis probably had a lot less control over his public image than he should have had, especially when he was a minor. I had no idea what happened to him or that he was suffering from poor mental health. I’m sure I did a lot of eye-rolling over his pictures being posted up on locker doors, and I don’t know how to feel about that now. It’s so sad his life ended the way it did. I hope he’s having an absolutely better time of it, wherever he is now.

I really loved the work she did in Are You Afraid of The Dark and Ladybugs is one of my favorite movies, Jackée Harry was hilarious in it. Not to mention his work in the movie IT, there was no other actor that could have made the part. Both so beautiful and talented. It's such a terrible shame he couldn't find the purpose he needed to get through those hard times in his life. The pressures in those industries are something we can't imagine.
