Terry has spoken the truth. We cannot expect better quality music without developing the industry if we call it that. We have let many artist down financially and otherwise because we deem local music as inferior to anything that plays from beyond zim's borders. We need to put money into industry development. We obviously cannot talk about the economy when international acts are paid to the tune of 5-6 figures in USD. We are the problem and are the solution to artists in similar situations.

Zimbabwean artists seem entitled to receiving support just because they are Zimbabweans. Support is earned by your talent not your origins. People choose to listen to SA music over local music because SA music is better. The only way to be more popular than Loyiso is to put out music that is more enjoyable than the music Loyiso is putting out. Even on this interview Terry is wearing a Miami Dolphins cap instead of a Caps United cap. It's the same concept. When people used to listen to Tuku and attend his shows it wasn't about where he was from - they just genuinely enjoyed the music
@djdunnydee7 ай бұрын
What is better about SA music?
@SirTerryZW7 ай бұрын
@@djdunnydee music is meant to be be enjoyable for listeners. What makes SA (and Nigerian) music better is simply that is more enjoyable for listeners around the world hence those artists are receive more bookings in different countries
@RegisChakanetsa7 ай бұрын
Our economy isn't performing well so each & every sector including music is affected.Its not just musicians take an other proffession and compare with SA & Nigeria unotoona kuti takasara.
@SirTerryZW7 ай бұрын
@@RegisChakanetsa but even if you go to America where the economy is stable and the music industry is lucrative, they would rather attend shows by SA and Nigerians because that music is just simply and objectively better. If you look at other professions like you said, you find that Zimbabwean accountants, engineers, nurses and doctors are in demand everywhere because of how good they are. The economy is not a valid excuse. Most successful artists actually come from much more humble backgrounds than this guy
@djdunnydee7 ай бұрын
@@SirTerryZW Zim music is so much enjoyable but not appreciated by the people in Zimbabwe. Our Zimbabwe artists are going outside and earning much more than here in Zimbabwe. We do not appreciate their music, we prefer to pay more for foreign artists whilst they come here to do lipsyncing. We are just funny people.
