I am from Buenos Aires, ARgentina, and when my doxie was 1 y.o., we went to a park and there was a big group of German tourists, amazed with my dog since he comes from your country. Everyone took pictures with him!! Was very funny.

The last dachshund I had was a standard short-hair, the only short-hair in a litter of wire-hairs. I've had many dachshunds, but he had the truest dachshund instincts of them all. He was a good size standard, 26 lbs. Once while walking him in the biggest park in the city, two joggers who happened to be German stopped to admire him. He was in great shape and was really a good looking dachshund. I'd gotten him from the breeder for $300 (that shows how long ago it was, and also in part because he was a short-hair), and the German guys offered me $1,000 for him, on the spot. Of course I didn't accept it. It would've broken my daughter's heart, my heart, and his heart.

I have never left North Carolina but, my dad has been all over. He has been in BC Canada, he said it was very cold there when he was there. Nilla is the best ice cream but, I love it all. That's what Dachshunds do. Not long after I got my 1st,she ran down & kilt a squirrel right in front of a cop who wasn't taking my word that that day was the opening day of the spring "squirreler" season. She wanted to write a ticket for allowing my dog to harass wildlife so I asked her to contact the game warden to prove my claim. The entire time, Bella was hopping around wanting to claim her kill.

My dachshund Cookie does that all the time . When she is done walking , she's done ! Then we have to carry a 12 lb dachshund back to the truck . My husband calls it the "Noodle Defense". If you don't want to do something, turn into a noodle.

My Dachshund is a chocolate & tan standard- size short hair. And she's ALWAYS done the "plop down I'm done" when she's done on a walk, no matter WHERE we were LOL! She's standard-size so we'd then carry her 19 pounds back to the car. She's now 17 1/2 years old 👏 so these days she just enjoys her treats & naps. But in her younger years when she was done...fuggettaboutit lol! So, I guess it just depends on each Dachshund's individual personality. But it's DEFINITELY a "Dachshund thing" & the ones that do it aren't playin', when they're done it's kaput time! SO "heckin" cute! 🐾 ❤ 🐾
