I just love how everybody called it Pokeyman in 1998, even the guy getting interviewed. I remember how even some of the commercials and even the first episode (or so) of the anime there were mispronunciations by the actors. Now Pokemon is just such a natural thing to say. We have to remember that in 1998 nobody ever heard a word like that before as most Japanese content that came to North America was heavily localized.

I look forward to these now like I did with the original episodes back in the day!

Maaaan it was so dope getting the Dream ast on release day! I got Sonic Adventure and Soul Calibur and gasped at the graphics at the time. And I couldn't stand Pokemon when it came out, all my friends were into it instead of me 😂 these past episodes are bringing back memories Vic, thanks for these!

16:11 Wow, I’ve never seen that grey cartridge Pokémon Yellow. Wonder how much those go for, millions? Lmao Thanks as always for the great retro content. Nothing beats the late 90’s/early 2000’s, right before we lost the gloriousness of CRTs :(

Can remember playing Soul Calibur for the first time. It was/is amazing.

I remember purchasing issues of incite magazine back in the day. The magazine was trying to be some sort of 'Maxim' for gaming, and it was aimed at an older (for the time) 20+ to 30+ YO audience. It incorporated a lot of lower tier celebrities into various articles. It was a guilty pleasure of mine. But The magazine folded after two years or so. There were also two variants of the magazine. One had a blue logo that covered PC games exclusively... and would also include a PC demo disc with each issue. The other had an orange logo that would cover console gaming only. I would purchase both versions.

Seeing retro Pokemon coverage on this, on the same week Pluto TV releases (FAST streaming app owned by Paramount, fittingly, it has Yu-Gi-Oh on there too for us Americans who grew up on Kids WB) their 24/7 Pokemon channel. A good week for retro PokeGeeks like me.

Tommy's mother is very proud! Did you know he was the first American to ever work on Sonic in the 2000s because no Americans worked on sonic in the 90s, not a single one!
