What I like is you show discernment and getting into a place isnt always that easy. Most people with boats leave out that difficult part. High 5. That's really how it is.

I'm really enjoying this series. It's a diary of cruising/sailing and an insight into the various difficulties and decisions involved in getting from point A to point B. As a non-sailor I'm getting to be quite the expert (of the armchair variety). That's KZbin for you.

Nice job on the additional forestay installation and reinforcement. Additional strength, for future such chainplate reinforcements (unlikely and hopefully not needed) would be the use of woven roving as the main reinforcement with cloth added to make a smoother surface if wanted. Additionally, glass mat material should be used between the layers of roving, or cloth to help fill voids and improve bonding between the layers. Roving is much heavier compared to cloth of various weights. Cloth comes in 4 oz, 6 oz weights, etc. whereas roving is in the ranges of around 20 oz above and below.

I always try to place myself `in the moment` when I`m watching your videos. It seems the challenges tend to come at you at an unfair rate to me but as always you take them in your stride and move on, you both have a great attitude towards the down moments but as one who is taking to the ocean life in a year or so it brings me great pleasure to see you enjoying the good times as you do! What a beautiful lifestyle, captains of your own boat and your own lives.. Doesn`t get any better than that!

It's hard to imagine the strength of those hurricanes. A good right hand point break cane garden bay on Tortola if there's any swell.

WhiteVanMan. The boat next to us is a 47 foot Colin Archer design steel double ender and belongs to our very good friend Martijn. It was gaff rigged, but he swapped that for the big sloop n staysail setup you see on it now, he completely restored and refitted it himself and he single hands it everywhere, all 30 tonnes of it. The red boat belongs to an Australian gent by the name of Andy who is an old friend of Matijn's, sadly he had not returned to the boat in a long while due to ill health and that's why it had been left there throughout the hurricane season. The wind stripped everything off above deck, the mast and all the rigging was tangled up in the water below, but incredibly is stayed put on the mooring and didn't sink. It is a steel hulled boat which is why it was not smashed by debris. The blue boat is sv Bolle, I believe it is really old, 1950s wood covered with aluminium perhaps. Mark and Malinda did tell me, but I have forgotten the details, a double ended ketch with an unusually hi profile rig. Beautiful boat and a beautiful couple. Sorry I can't tell you more.

91F plus 100% humidity= Heat index 101 We found your Victory on yachtworld with everything for $49k. Please look at it and tell us what you think if you can. I’ve seen what your boat can handle and I love the hard Dodger protection as well. It would be such an honor if you studied it a bit and gave us your honest opinion. I feel bad we’re not Patrons asking you to do this is a bit much anyway thanks again for the great video! We just love y’all and can’t wait to retire and leave Houston, TX for the Caribbean! Money Grip, i just looked up the ad, thats a sweet looking boat with a lot going for it for the price. I like the second steering position on the aft deck, a good back up. It's a a trintella from Holland, victory 's have a wooden dog house and other subtle differences, but I like it and would have looked at it should it have been available in the UK when we bought Bora Bora. I've always wanted a furling mule. Apparently they can add substantially to the performance. Good luck and thanks for watching.
