I am from Bahraich, it was the last Meter Gauge train from Bahraich Railway Station, I will never forget my travelling experiences in those Red Meter Gauge Coaches 😔. Broad Gauge will come after some years of construction, But those Nostalgia of Eating Samosa at Risia, then Mubarak 's Lassi at Matera, Puri Sabzi at Nanpara will always be remembered.

Purani yadein tazaa ker di bhai apne.. jab main Bahraich rehta tha toh Sitapur se Bahraich tak meter gauge se travel kerta tha. Sitapur se Mailani aur fir mailani se Bahraich Gokul Express.. golden Era of MG.

Very cute journey.....Thank you for bringing this for us.....felt like we were traveling with you....I remember my childhood days Parli Vaijanath to Parbhani was meter guage route....traveled a lot....then Secunderabad to Jaipur express was meter guage...it used to take 3 days to reach Jaipur from Secunderabad 😊....even remember during holidays used to go to chennai and then Chennai Beach to Tambaram had meter guage EMU and chennai Egmore to Madurai was meter guage line....loved to travel in Pallavan, Vaigai and Rockfort express which was meter guage then 😀...Awesome ....but feel sad too that meter guage wud be extinct like ALCO locomotives ☹️

Beautiful Narrative on Meter Gauge line. Very Emotional, touching Documentation. Key Moments Girls Cycling down the Muddy Road. Children Playing Besides the Railway track. The final Run. Till Roughly around 1991/92,used to travel on meter gauge line between Miraj jn & Vasco ( Goa) Day train- Miraj Vasco Mandovi Express by 2S. Over Night Train ( Gadag link Express, it's Goa part was named as Gomantak Express) by 3-Tier Sleeper. Both the meter gauge trains had BG link from and to Mumbai. Mahalaxmi Express & Sahayadri Express for Mandovi express & Koyna Express for Gadag link / Gomantak Express. Also to add, there was also one more link for Mahalaxmi Express from Miraj jn to Banglore also named as Mahalaxmi Express

I also remembered my those days of 1986 to 1990 for daily traveling by 91 up , 171 up 92 dn, 172 dn ( between bhira- palia of mailani-gonda trains ) and 09 up 10 down and century exp. Bhira- Gola during college times.❤ Those were the days of steam engines. Sweet engine noise and track sound and thru dense forest journey ❤

I feel nostalgia thinking about the times I used to travel on the meter gauge trains along the Mathura-Kasganj route. In 2008-09, the route was closed to convert it to broad gauge, bringing an era to a close.
