I am here in USA for 21 years now. Small tip for you, to pursue masters in USA, u need to have 12th plus 4 year degree. India BCom BA and BSc are 12th plus 3 years. While applying either have one more year of education or have minimum 5 years of work experience. Many universities offer their masters differently so pls email them directly. Some may accept you in a different category. Education is great in USA and is also a different method of teaching compared to India.

The plight of Indians moving to green pastures in country like U.S. or Canada is just like high class maid servants working in High end villas or gated community in India where by working in two or three houses they easily earn around twenty thousand per month.

As a 26 YO who is currently thinking about shifting to the US, all points are very helpful. My viewpoint is to categorise things in basic necessities like, Child education: It is really difficult in India to get your kid into a good school. Most of the time people have to connect to sources to get it done. Medical: It's cheaper in India. Housing: As per PPP, it's almost similar. But benefit wise it's really different from area to area, lot of areas have low water availability and frequent power cuts.

Really well said, recent the prices in the US due to Covid have sky rocketed that Housing is now unaffordable. Now we are seeing drop in housing prices. Perhaps will ask the spekaer to talk about Housing in US and current collapse.

I think cost comparison should be done considering PPP rather than the nominal price difference. In general, if the price is 3x compared to India in the USA we can consider them the same but if it goes beyond 3x then we can say it's expensive.

Talking about healthcare in India, there are 2 sides to it - for small things, there is easy access to doctors and chemist, plus there are homeopathic and ayurvedic options but agar hospitalize ho gaye, then best of luck. They will milk you like a cow and no guarantee you will come back. There is lack of cleanliness, professionalism and quality control, they will keep you there for as long as possible so they can keep making money, they are totally commercial and patient wellbeing is not their goal. In US, in case of an emergency, they will treat you first, no questions asked, they will also help you pay it later or in some cases even waive it.

People moves from villages to small cities and small cities to metro because they see there some benefits in staying in metro like good earning and life style and to get something extra you have to sacrifice also like Home food and other comforts. Same thing goes for going to US or any other countries, if people staying there for long years while facing all the challenges in that country which means some extra benefits they are getting there which they didn't find in there home country. Challenges are everywhere in India also people are crying in unemployment, large population and increasing inflation , getting a job is also not easy , every corporate wants multiple skills in an single guy So which ever country you stay India or US , life is tough everywhere, nobody will give you spoon feeding.

Having done research and teaching in US for many years before moving to India I feel most of the things mentioned here are true. However my personal experience related to education is different and feel that schools in US on average are better (there are exceptions for sure!). Traditional Focus in India is on marks and rote fact-based learning. In US, its on actual learning, acquiring lab + DIY or Do-It-Yourself skills and critical thinking skills. For example, my 5th grade daughter goes to International School in India that follows American style of learning. She is encouraged to ask questions, regularly do research and go deep on her homework topics. She has acquired a growth mindset and is slowly becoming comfortable learning a new topic by exploring on her own. I sometimes feel I had gone to a school like that as a kid 😀.
@realtalks1 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your detailed reply. The schools in Delhi are very focussed on new curriculam. One doesn't need to send their kids to international school. Check out the online schools in India. Even many parents in the US are enrolled in online schools of India and are better coping up in the US. In the past 5-10yrs schooling has completely overhauled in India. Even back in the day in Delhi 2 decades ago also there were schools who encouraged questioning and logicak thinking. But you are right majority were into rote learning.

Your view on school education is completely wrong, their syllabus is designed to get students active in extra cirricular activities like sports, dance, music, painting, etc with good communciation skills. They have high paying jobs in all the fields in the country and not just engineering(especially IT) like in India, take example of sports they have NBA, NFL, baseball, ice hockey, soccer, etc with 153 Major League sports franchises and even athletics(olympics) sports which easily employs around 1-2 lakh sports persons around the country, in India that is missing you have to be really good in the sports and make it to the international level to even earn a decent living, we only have cricket. Similarly US has good jobs in fields of painting, historians, humanities fields which pay equal to engineers in India. And even if you are not good in studies you dont need to go to college to earn a decent living farming, security guards, amry, plumbers, electricians, carpanters, mechanic, thousand different profeesions that give a decent income dont require you to study 4 years in college. Then also you are forgeting that their colleges which are world class dont have a crazy entrance exam for selection and there are atleast 100 good Universities in US, they look everything in the student and then give addmission. And if your child is going to apply to same US colleges then how is education bad? In India each student in competing with 100 others to get one decent middle income job, 15 lakh apply for 10k IIT seats, 15 lakh for 90k seats in Medical, 2 crore applicants for 90 thousand railway grade D job, A recent street vendor scheme of the government saw 15 lakh applications; of the 99,000 selected, almost 90 per cent are graduates. Then add 60% reservation into the mix. These are some examples of crazy competition level in the country and you think people want their children to stay here?

Sir jitne bhi Indian jo USA me woh log india me aake kyu khud ke tech company bana sakate he
@realtalks1 Жыл бұрын
Kaafi ne banai hai jaise ki Snapdeal. But India and US ka startup ecosystem kaafi alag hai. While India is growing and many startups are coming up its no where near to US where so many startups exist and lot of funding and research is available. As US is a developed country the avg income is also 70K$ compared to 2K$ in India. Startups are risky and require research. We need lot of capital, technology, ecosystem of support and a large market. All of these are present in the US. That is why almost all top tech companies AMZN, GOOG, MSFT, META, CISCO, WMT, etc are in the US.

Why USA is still # 1 in innovation, Product design, creativity ? Almost all start ups in India are copy of one or another from USA or other countires.. Indian education system makes you slave.. restricts your creativity.. and also brother where do you live in USA.. Paying 2500$ monthly for pre-school ?
@realtalks19 ай бұрын
Its standard pre school fees if you are on East or West coast in USA. It can range from 2-3K/mt. This is why child care is super expensive in USA. Even pvt schools are 2K+. Do check other vids around innovation, startups etc you may like. We have over 150+ podcasts already live.
