WOW! OUTSTANDING! His take on Tolkien is inspired and his visionary insight on rational animism is glorious!

Fascinating interview! I've watched it three times already. Interestingly I can relate to his love of Tolkein's mythos. As a child I read everything I could of Tolkein's and basically did guru yoga with Gandalf.

I was lead here through the next episode, Eric. I thought that the harm in Eastern China, Khotan, originally , The Uigers .Khotan was holy to the Nagas and Mamos= epidemics come from such.I thought in late 2019 something would go wrong.

Tolkien was a Terton, the kind of Terton that reveals an epic.

What he describes as modern American Christianity is materialism disguised as religion.

Good job pushing back against Andersson's pejorative and limited understanding of Christianity (which also suggests an impoverished conception of buddhism as well), Steve. His work to help bring the Tibetans out of the Middle Ages wrt to sexuality and gender, however, is quite welcome.

Christianity actually giving birth to modern science is completely ignored but trying to state that somehow Buddhism is more open to science was really nonsensical. The big bang theory was discovered by a Catholic Priest.

The Christian bashing in this episode was very cringy and totally uncalled for.

to me is sounded very clear that it's his own stance and not that christians are inferior in any sense.
