Man, these are actually pretty impressive. I may have to pick up a set. I normally don't advocate anyone getting bootlegs, but the originals are wayyyy too expensive. I would want to add some paint of my own to bring out some of the detail. But overall these look great for the price. The bootlegs you do NOT WANT TO GET, however, are the 1990 movie turtles. For those, it's well worth paying more to get the real Neca figures, unless you're just getting a set for your kids to play with or something. For those, realism is definitely one of the main factors. But these being the original comic design, I think the bootlegs just work with this line.

It's said that 90% of TMNT sold in the round tube were bootlegs. If that's so, then I bought mine at a comics shop close to the release date. So mine are bootlegs, as I did the "turtle tail test" and they don't move. (Easily missed articulation is the ab crunch)

The best TMNT bootlegs on the market. I have all 3 version sitting on my shelf, the original neca, the bootlegs with all red bandana and the bootlegs with coloured bandana. From what i heard and read, the bootlegs version came from the same mold that made the original one. The factory that made the toys decide to use the same mold and release their version but with a different box design.

I have both NECA and KO. The KO are gummy. You nailed it. NECA is a lighter shade of green, darker chest shell, and the plastic is real ceramic like (which actually seems more fragile then the KO’s) I do worry about the KO getting sticky over time

These bootlegs are fantastic! Best £40 I have spent on TMNT product! -Did hear that NECA will not be re-releasing these due to the volume of bootlegs available on the market now. Who knows, money to be made so would not surprise me in the slightest if they were to re-appear down the line👍🏻

I saw the real ones at a Comic shop the other day for $150 each. I went home and got these off Ali, all 4 for $45. Your video looks like they're pretty awesome

I have those bootleg turtles and they are great quality for the price. Rumour is they are made by the same factory who made the originals. Worth a buy for sure.

I got the bootlegs about 6 years ago and they're pretty perfect! I've heard that some of the newer batches are starting to look a bit rough, sloppy paint, incorrectly assembled joints and feel cheaper and flimsier. Looks like you got a good set though!

I bought a set from E-bay years ago and they are my most absolute favourite figures, they are perfect in my eyes. Considering how much money I've since spent on NECA figures and recently the Street Scene Diorama to showcase the Mirage TMNT line and Gargoyes line... I don't feel guilty.

can you do me a favor? I got these figs 4 years ago, and i've noticed that all parts of the rubber on the figures(belt,kneepads,front shells, bandanas)can easily have their paint worn out, showing yellow material underneath. Have you noticed any of that? because it seems like we have the same bootlegs, not the older ones with shiny and harder soft plastic(those possibly don't wear out).

Hi there. I just look at mine and I don't see any yellow paint but it could just be that I don't have them as long as you do. It could happen that in time the yellow paint shows.

I just got a set in the mail. I absolutely love them, but on the bottom left foot it says 2013 and not 2008 like the other high quality bootlegs with the lighter green paint. Part of me wishes I could find a nicer light green paint version KO with 2008 instead. I will try to own the originals someday. If these were available on retail stores original I will buy them for sure. But people are asking wayyy too much money for originals. I also got the 1990 bootleg version because of the same reason. @@ActionDisplayChannel Good to hear. Be glad you got not those ones with very dark green skin and a blue shell. If you're interested in other high quality bootlegs... Transformers has great ones. I do recommend the "Studio Series 38 Optimus Prime" bootleg figure with the name "Mechanical Alliance Dark Commander" from the Bumblebee movie if you want an iconic figure in the 5-7" scale. A nearly damn perfect copy of the original in bit darker colors. However, it's recommended to custom paint several parts to make it really stand out.

I came up with a theory you know how people say the plastic stinks the only ones I heard those with the cartoon colored version they look much more glossy than the red ones and look likes they use different paint

@@plungerofdoom6453 Nice! Just keep in mind that there few diffrenet editions of these KO's. I didn't know that and I was lucky to get the ones that I did. But in a Facebook group someone pointed that out. There are versions with even darker paint but you can't tell from promo images on Ali which version they sell.
