Amazing adventure. Great weekend DIY project. Purple curtains top it off.

It's been fun so far, just a lot slower than we first thought. Lynne loves purple so the curtains were inevitable!

We cannot recommend moving here enough, we love it. The travel restrictions are inconvenient but hopefully won't last too long.

We are trying to find out more of the history of the house but with our language limitations we are finding it difficult. Hopefully we will find out more once our Bulgarian improves.

Subscribed when I saw the Yorkshire Tea. I'm hoping to buy a similar property and work online as a web developer. Looking forward to following your journey, all the best.

Yorkshire tea and Marmite are the two must have products for us. 😂 There are plenty of properties here ready for renovating, research the areas that you like and happy searching!

Neither can we! A lot of work but we are gearing up for a big push to get the house finished. Unfortunately the great weather and fast growing garden have been keeping us busy. But there's no real rush, it will get done.

Thank you, we are still learning about village life here and trying to find out about the family that lived in this house. It's quite difficult with our limited language skills.

How did you buy your property I am also thinking of buying over there. What website did you see your beautiful house on :)
@ourlittlebulgarianadventure3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your interest, we originally found our house online on the Bulgarian Property Experts website. Gemma was excellent and handled the purchase for us. She can cover the entire buying procedure and will do as much or as little of the process as you want. We got her to do everything for us as she knows the system and has the contacts to take the hassle out of what could be a difficult transaction, especially if you don't speak Bulgarian.

Really having fun, just taking longer than we had hoped. My fault, I'm not as quick as I used to be (or as young as I think!)

What made you choose the northern area over say, the southern part of the country? We are coming from Eastern Colorado and currently live in a part of US that gets cold in winter break t not a lot of snow. Previously we lived in South Dakota where winter day time temps were -20 in daytime in January. What would you recommend we bring? Is it easier to bring your vehicle ? What about other items?
@ourlittlebulgarianadventure3 жыл бұрын
We chose the northern part to avoid the really hot temperatures during July and August. This summer we had one day that topped 40c but further south they hit 44c a couple of times. The last few weeks have been averaging around 34c at the hottest part of the day but the evenings are more comfortable and early mornings are when the work gets done. It's currently 8:00 and 18c this morning, 18th August. Another great day ahead!

Oh wow! I’m like you and don’t like extreme heat! I’d rather add a log on the fire and more clothing on! You can only strip down so far!

Hello just a question if i may ask? What are tge bottle for hanging of the trees?
@ourlittlebulgarianadventure3 жыл бұрын
They were put there by the previous owners of the house. They are supposed to deter insects and birds from damaging plants, fruit and veg.

how much were this homestead and how many acres is this?
@ourlittlebulgarianadventure3 жыл бұрын
The property is around 4000 m2 including the field at the back and cost 14000 leva. There are many such properties in Bulgaria, you just need to find the area you want to live in.

Nice! That’s about 10,000 Canadian. Seems like such a bargain. It’s hard to believe. People should all be imitating back to the countries where they have heritage! The outside has such good condition on the stucco too! Look at many videos and the condition of this place seems excellent, specially if you are intending to upgrade windows any way. Have fun with it and keep a good sense of humour with your wife! Go with God.

@@Eliukcory I don't think all countries have such affordable price levels, even the infamous 1€ sicilian/southern italian houses are ruins compared to this. So being limited to ones heritage might not be a good idea. Bulgaria definitely deserves some new energy coming in.
