EP22 Mataranka, Bitter Springs, Katherine Hot Springs, AWESOME Free Camp with our Stockman Rover

Welcome to EP:22 of our Australian caravan adventures! In this episode, we take you on an exciting journey from the Mataranka Thermal Pool to the Old Stuart Highway Free Camp, all while enjoying the comforts of our trusty Stockman Rover. First up, we immerse ourselves in the crystal-clear waters of Mataranka Hot Springs, a must-see destination for anyone travelling through the Northern Territory. Next, we visit the stunning Bitter Springs, where we drift with the current and capture some amazing underwater footage.
After our relaxing swim, we head to a Gravel Pit Free Camp, where things take a funny turn when we’re surrounded by a swarm of thirsty bees! Unable to find shade under the Stockman Rover, we end up relocating to the other side of the gravel pit. A hilarious moment occurs when Colleen sits on a bee-let’s just say it wasn’t the most comfortable experience!
The following day, we stop off at Katherine Hot Springs for another refreshing swim before continuing our journey to the Old Stuart Highway Free Camp. Here, we find the perfect, private camping spot by the river, with plenty of birdlife and stunning views. Colleen enjoys multiple swims, and Carl has a productive day cleaning the Stockman Rover and fixing the Rock Tamer. To top it all off, he cooks up American-style pancakes and bacon on a 37°C day using the hot plate liner for the first time.

All you do with the bees is put out some water in a shallow dish
