Excellent series - building my version along with these and learnoing a great deal. I'm returning to the hobby after 30 years and didn't even know what an 'ejection pin hole' looked like. Thanks for this.

Will, just a little tip I picked up somewhere I would like to share. Do an Ebay search for disposable micro brush. These are the tiny brushes that are used to apply glue for fake eyelashes. They are very cheap and I use them to apply kicker, glue debonder and I especially love them for liquid mask. They are even great for paint touch ups where you don’t want to get a brush dirty. They come in different sizes. Also, I shave the bristles off the used brushes and I use the pointed plastic handle as a glue or kicker applicator.

Appreciate the detail you are going to in these last two videos of the Spitfire Will, nice work ... I was thinking of doing this kit myself before seeing your series and you have now convinced me to have a go at it!

I’m loving this series. The other thing you taught me about was the Optivisor. Completely changed my modeling game when it comes to the accuracy of trimming, sanding and assembling parts!

Quite agree.👍 Something worth noting: *don't* get the cheap, generic, Chinese one. I did, and it's all sharp edges and the batteries for the lamps keep falling out. I'm guessing you don't get these problems with the proper, branded Optivisor? Another great use for one of these: finding parts you've dropped on the carpet.😀 I wouldn't be without mine.

Your moving along , talking about nippers was listening thinking that why chunks come off the plastic. Have 4 pairs xuron ,tamiya and a cheapie , them I looked at the one I always go to and guess what about 10 years old blade and anvil sadly had never looked and had gone for the latest and greatest. . Just shows you what works works . Kind regards Tom

Mr leveling thinner is brilliant. I premix my tamiya paint for spaying and when I brush paint with them, I have some leveling thinner in a paint bowl, dip the brush in it then the paint. Sure it may take a few coats but everything comes out smooth and no brush mark's.

Hi @willpattison, I love watching your videos but may I make a suggestion ? Buy a little monitor that you hook up your camera, the monitor goes in front of you ( not to be seen in the shot ) and so you can watch what you are filming. Now we are counting the hairs on your fingers instead of looking at the details of the model. Keep making your sublime videos. With kind regards, Patrick - Belgium

Hi. The Xuron 9180 shears that you use, are they the serrated or non serrated version?

Do you wash all the parts to get the manufacturing oil off before you paint or glue them?
@barpfoto

no. If you're talking about mold release, it's almost never a thing. Definitely not with kits from a manufacturer like tamiya. It can happen with kits from small producers or with really old kits, but in most cases, you will either feel it, see it, or even smell it.

Would love to have seen how you so cleanly attached the photo-etch compass holder. I know it's CA and kicker probably with a glue looper...but man, I never get that right and it's always either too little or too much.

Something I just thought of: Watching this *part 2* I'm starting to think I should have got one of these kits and be building along with you. Pity I never thought of it in time. BUT......... and this is *so obvious* but only if it dawns on you....... these videos, hopefully, will be on KZbin for all eternity. I can watch the entire build, *then* send for the kit, and build along with you at a later date. Yes, I know ~ Duhhh!! ... but it's only obvious if you think of it.🤣 Cheers for now,🍻🎅 Dougie (rocket science - a speciality)😬

"You can see that pin mark is going to show up" no, I can't, because I'm looking at your cutting mat, or the back of you hand, or your knuckles. These have so much great content, just please aim the camera at what you're talking about. Thanks
