That empress mother is like some people that I know who go to church often and walk around with prayer beads and yet are so evil.

Some time those religious people are the wicked and evil ones.

@@maritzacasado1815every time she'd be praying I was laughing. Those like her who do evil things are always so devout. It's only because they hope they won't get cursed out by revengeful people or spirits. Praying so hard lol. Pathetic.

@@Alchemista420 , thanks for explaining the reason why they prayed holding those beas, it's useless for them to do that, they do evil but they don't want retribution..

Looking at the king, i really do feel the daughter killed the father, or somewhat sped up his death. He knew he had no time left so he rushed home.

While watching the show a 2nd time, it became clear that she had him go back to the palace. She even admits to it. When she suggests the grandmother will feel lonely as she stayed back, and wonders if her uncle is okay, she pauses and waits for her father's reaction. She knew the Empress Dowager planned to see Lord Ding, so she surreptitiously manipulated the Emperor into realizing something was up.

When she explains it all to the Empress Dowager afterwards, the old lady realizes Rouija was instrumental in her son's death and tries to launch at her in a fit of rage. She keeps telling her grandmother "you killed my father". But really they both killed him.

We're supposed to believe he's 30? Ridiculous. They could have upped his age by 15 and the story would be perfectly fine (even make more sense, given all his achievements).

And why does this bother you? Is it the first time you've watched CD? There are people who have played 50 years old characters while only in their twenties. Or played 17 years old characters while in their thirties. At least 30 is not something big
@satnodidi Жыл бұрын
@@musicislifeandsoismotivati2752 Yep, bothers me quite often. There is no reason for him to play 30--it's not based off a historical figure, the storyline does not require him to be 30. Because in the C-drama industry, there's an entrenched conceit that main characters can only be 15-30 to be somehow ideal or interesting, which is ridiculous. Why can't they be older? When actors play an older/younger character because the story actually needs it, that's a different story. It's still ideal to get one close in age. You want your viewers to believe what's onscreen, make it believable.

No, it wouldn’t have been fine because a) the ML is 28-30yo in the novel the TV drama is adapted from b) in the story, the FL is only 18-20yo (in ancient china people were required to be married before 20 years old by the law, and given that the FL’s parents are not the supportive type willing to pay extra taxes just because their daughter does not want to get married, the FL’s age must be under 20), so making the ML 45 yo would make the ML even older than the FL’s father, and with such a big age gap their romance will come off as very creepy.
