It was good. Tariff was around 4000 that time. Tariff is generally at higher side in May June July.

Aa sakte ho par morning mei jaldi nikalna padega... Around 6 AM then only you can see Sonamarg. Agar Sonamarg ke paas zero point bhi dekhna hai to night stay karna padega. Night stay is recommended from my side

Go for trekking to visit thajiwas glacier instead of hiring pony or horse. Pay 400-500 only for pony if u plan to take it. Bargain for things as the price is very high for everything there.

Both are unique in their own way but if you have very less time then in summer its sonmarg and in winter its gulmarg. I will recommend visiting both as their landscape is different from each other.

It's true. Kashmir is very expensive place for tourists and you need to bargain a lot for everything specially for getting a horse or pony ride. Only in Pahalgam you will get taxi for good price as their taxi union is good.

I don't know why youtubers only paint a rosy picture of Kashmir. I travelled for the second time to Kashmir in the first week of June 2022. The taxi fares for my 7day intercity travel was around 20k but on reaching Sonmarg the union cab drivers was asking for 12k for the 35 Km ride till Zero point . When I refused to go wIth them they were using abusive language and literally was following us everywhere we were going on foot and irritated us so much that we were forced to return to our cab and come back to Srinagar. Every place we visited be it Yousmarg, Doodhpathri, Gulmarg the local pony owners and union cabbies were disturbing us and warning us like local mafia, they have sucked out the fun out of our trip. The Kashmiris have become desperate and they are hell bent on looting you just because you have visited their land. The local food vendors charged us 470 rupees for two makke ki roti , one maggi nd two cups of tea just becaus we did not enquire about th price before ordering the food, our driver said that the roti costs Rs.20 each and Maggi costs 60 and tea is for Rs.20 for tourists who ask the price before placing order. This is how they take advantage of tourists and blame it on the government . Kashmir has to educate the local people and be more tourist friendly to become a regular tourist spot again. Please avoid Kashmir if you want to have a hassle-free good time with your family without being scammed and cheated at every point of your journey.

I agree to some of the points mentioned by you. I did my research well in advance and almost skipped all scams done by local people. Kashmir is no doubt very expensive compared to any other tourist place in India. I managed to get taxi for around 12K for 7 days after lot of bargaining. Definitely there should be some strict regulations to Stop locals from scamming tourists specially pony riders. But all that said Kashmir's beauty is unmatched and you can enjoy it fully by being extra cautious.

@@travelchase9399 travel is enjoyed when it is hassle-free and safe but when you have to always be on your toes with your best bargaining skills, keeping all possible senses open, it's no longer a pleasure trip, it becomes a mission or combat, Kashmir no doubt is beautiful but definitely not worth so much of trouble. This is my personal experience and impression but sadly most of my friends and relatives are of the same opinion.No one wants to be subjected to emotional labour in the name of vacation.
