Most sailing VLOG's adventure sail with the ultimate destination being the French Polynesians. You are very lucky to be starting from there... beautiful. Good luck with the channel, you are certainly starting with the right boat, and I'm enjoying the newness and wide-eyed approach to your adventure.

Yes I linked Distant Shores in the comments. Before setting out I watched KZbin sailing channels for about five years. Love Delos La Vaga and Gone With The Whyns.

Great video, you're living my dream, hope to join you in a few years when I retire. We spend a lot of time on the water being from Louisiana, just not full time. Question, why did you have to 'Spring off" when you have twin motors?
@catamaranmentor4 жыл бұрын
Twin motors still don’t make Coco go side ways or I don’t know how haha and we had a slight breeze pushing us onto the dock.

Hey well done M8. Its GR8 to see adventurous people getting out there. Can u please tell me how u managed to secure insurance for the boat with zero offshore experience ? What was the cost involved ? Thx ~ Paul
@catamaranmentor4 жыл бұрын
Hey hey I sent the insurance a list of my previous power boating experience and told the insurance I would get training. We just got three half days training. I had done multi day costal trips in my power boat which taught me a lot.

Now I’m like you and watching all of these sailing channels like you did and looking forward to buying a boat. So what’s it like going from the couch to the catamaran after watching for so long?!!
@catamaranmentor4 жыл бұрын
Quite surreal at times. And a lot of work running the boat compared to watching on the couch haha

Just found your channel and I am enjoying it so far. Jealous but happy that you are enjoying your life now instead of waiting. You’ll get the questions often enough about did you get a loan or pay outright for the boat? That may answer the insurance question someone else asked. Also, what was your budget when you were shopping? And where did you get your courage to take a long passage right away? 😂 Good job and travel safe.

Going to do a question and answer session in a few episodes time. Stay tuned 😎

Look into an electric trolling motor to use as a bow thruster. With that one person could of safely did that launch. The trollimg motor can also be used on dingy to fish mangroves..

I sailed a little when I was 13 years old. Then a lot of day trip power boating and fishing. Then when I brought a larger power boat that taught me chart plotters and radar. Did a few multi day trips around the coast etc then brought Coco. Thanks
