I can almost smell that cane burning! I lived in Mackay for a fair few years and loved the burn-off season. Another great episode, happy travels! Cheers Annette

Lots more action-packed activity. Why is it called Magnetic Island - I don't remember an explanation? Good to see Archie enjoying himself again, especially in the sea. Some spectacular views, especially from Kissing Point artillery post and amazing sunset from Castle Hill. Further spectacular views from the location of the war time 'pill boxes'. It was lovely to see the 'City of Adelaide' with its arboreal inhabitants as well as telling us about it. In the last episode you had lots of healthy fruit but, this time, we saw Chris tucking into a huge bag of naughty chips - hope all his walking burned the calories off again ! Whilst you were sitting doing a recap, Chris mentioned 'a little guy' in front of you. What kind of bird was it, I couldn't see clearly, even after rewind? Such a lot to see in this one, but I couldn't help wondering where cane-burning stands in terms of air pollution in these environmentally sensitive days ? Congratulations on another great show !

Hi Dad. It’s called Magnetic Island because Captain Cook thought that it was affecting his magnetic compass as they sailed past (although it doesn’t seem to be). Glad you’ve enjoyed watching it! X

Hi Chris Regards to your fridge charge cable via 12pin trailer connector,I would engage a very good auto electrician who understands cable lengths and current. I would run independent charge cable for your fridge or run your 3 way fridge directly from your caravan batteries.

Thanks for the tip, definitely something we’ll be looking into early next year to get it sorted!! 👍 thanks for watching!!

Really enjoying the vids - you should be very proud of your WA drone footage video in particular!. My wife and I are due to get our Crusader Serenity in June and we have a 2021 model FR Wildtrak to tow it. Was just wondering whether you had the van rear camera wired through to the sync 3 screen in the Ranger, or how you locate the separate screen if that’s the way you have gone? Just in case you haven’t already passed the Yeppoon area heading south, make sure you visit the Emu Park ANZAC centenary coastal walk - truly beautiful in every way. Cheers, Noel

Thanks so much, glad you are enjoying the vids!! We have a seperate screen for our reversing camera so didn’t connect it to the sync 3 screen, we usually just pop it on the windscreen, to the left of the drivers seat, so it’s not too distracting but I can use it when I need to! Yes we’ve passed Yeppoon and did visit Emu Park and the Anzac memorial and coastal walk, was very impressive!! Thanks for much for supporting the channel!! 👍

This is awesome! I see what you mean about the hill being just short of being defined as a mountain as when in Auckland, I usually spend a lot of time up Mount Eden and it does look a wee bit lower if you know what I mean.
@StaycationOz2 жыл бұрын
Haha maybe they have different classifications in NZ, but that would be strange, Mount Eden should probably be Eden Hill based on the Castle Hill logic 😜
@h0ckeyd2 жыл бұрын
@@StaycationOz :D 196m for Mt. Eden vs 286m for Castle Hill...distances were never my strong point :D....tbf they do also call clear Fjords "sounds" too.

That cane farm looks amazing. Do you have a 3 way fridge? Yeah swapping over to Anderson is the way to go. You should do a caravan review?
@StaycationOz2 жыл бұрын
The cane farm was fantastic!! Yes we do have a 3 way fridge, might look at a seperate Anderson for it in future!! We’ve done a caravan review a while back, it’s Episode 8!! 👍😜
@biglap.australia2 жыл бұрын
@@StaycationOz caravan review update, how is it holding up? Our last caravan had a 3 way fridge and wired through the 12 pin plug. Anderson plug is the only way to go. These Caravan manufacturers are boneheads, they seem to be lacking in electrical design and execution.

We might do something like that for EP50, putting together something like that, we’ll talk about how the van has been!! 👍
