Awe, i have one of those little carnival glass piggy banks, mine is much smaller than that one though. Also, just as Karen is walking up to pay for those coats i noticed a lamp on the back table. I have that lamp, i do not have the glass shade but now i know what it looks like. Thank you , now i know what to hunt for.

Do you wallpaper your own ceilings because that is a difficult job and yours look amazing? I lived in England where it is unusual not to have wallpaper in every room and anaglypta was so popular because it could be painted.

I wonder if sprinkling bicarbonate of soda all over rubbing it in letting it sit for a few hours then brushing it out might help with the smell.

Both coats were gorgeous. The purple piece has an awful lot of decorative lining. Take some of it out. That may solve the problem. Please don't remove the top buttons and loops. They are such beautiful decorations that make it so special. They don't have to be closed anyway as long as the waist is closed. It's not really expected to be a coat for warmth so much as luxury. Maybe you could fashion one to three short gold chains at the waist to extend it but not close it as tightly. That would look so cool. You likely have some chain, 10+ cm wide or so, that could span about 8 cm. Boy, would I like to get my hands on that.

Nope. Don’t put sterling in the dishwasher. Silver polish only! I know you wouldn’t put your silver jewelry in the dishwasher! I wouldn’t worry about silver plate unless I wanted to keep the finish nice. The dishwasher detergent is what does the damage.
