All hatchable eggs regarding hatchability (mortality pct.) includes many factors starting from the age of both donors & makers of that embryo the state where they are mated the handling of eggs quality of crust shape etc. number of days or weeks in stock and what is the humidity & temp where they store prior to your incubation plus your way also!of dealing with it! I think the life span of each fertilized egg in storage is about a week to 10 days as it will rapidly developed it sudden change of temperature occurs! like brownouts! so the premature development of that egg in storage may occur! and you can witnessed it if you cracked an egg and you see some blood or some kind of dark spot on the yolk that is the development of the eye as head emerge firs! the first signs of a fertile egg when you candle it are streaks of red veins on the insides of the crust of egg shell!

Imagine the normal laying pct. of hens are 10 -12 eggs per incubation as they start to incubate those eggs! in large farms they are producing hundred of hens per choice of bloodlines as to mass produce a line or a battle cross!

As I have said earlier, Mr. Kakugi Sir, on my past comments! as a chick comes out of his shell on the 20 -21 day! so he or she are full in their gut as the fed inside on the crust of the egg during incubation! but on the first day! it should be a good way to introduce prebiotic & pro biotic drops per Orem on every chick to have a developed useful bacteria in their intestinal flora! as they mature!
