Thank you so much for uploading this video! You are such a good lecturer and I'm grateful for technology otherwise I would never have understood these concepts (my professor doesn't explain anything clearly so I get half understanding of everything only...)

Hey! Great lecture, and thank you for sharing it on KZbin. You could have mentioned Oxygen (O2) as one of the more popular radical initiators that is used in the industry (e.g. LDPE manufacture).

Thanks so much, about termination step, what is dominant (combination or disp) b/c polymer mw/ mw distribution will change much depend on two type of termination. And how to control the type of termination. What parameters will effect much to type of termination?

hey, i am from germany and we would like to stabilize wood with PMMA using Azorbisisubutyronitrile. I see that you are very smart. My question is: For infusing wood with 3000 psi of pressure with the resin, does the molecular weight of the hardener (in this case Azorbisisubutyronitrile) matter?. Since when i used Dilauroylperoxid, the infusion was really hard to accomplish, since the molecular weight is around 400 but the molecular weight of Azorbisisubutyronitrile is around 160. The molecular weight of pure MMA is around 100. My second question is, why do i get good colors with Azorbisisubutyronitrile but bad colors with dibenzoylperoxid as an initiator? Excuse my bad english. I am more a woodworker than a smart guy. Best Regards, Ebrahim from Germany

2° question: Bad color can came from a monomer stabilizer (hydroquinone) or initiators that have oxigen. There are many side reactions that involve iniziators and polimers chains, not a simple task. 1° question: lower the quantity of AIBN, or think to make a heat curing. I konw that someone use a oven.

Hey, you say that radical is always chain growth but isn’t Thilo-ene click chemistry radical and considered step-growth? Btw, thanks for your lectures. I have to study this all by myself right now and your lectures are such a great addition to the books I’m using.
