Just discovered your videos - great content - I haven't played golf in many years and was never very good at it - but there was something about the aesthetic of golf, the beautiful courses that I always appreciated. I remember staying up late to watch The Masters at Augusta, I'm pretty sure it came down to Nick Faldo and Greg Norman (I just had to look it up - 1996 I think), anyway, digressing - I still have my clubs in storage somewhere, perhaps I need to dust them off and ruin a walk with a round of golf :)

….and so with you on the gimmes! The lads I play with do gimme on a putter length!!! I always refuse the offer, they always take it as a given. I don’t get it, I want more score card to be right, but we do take drops from out of bounds to keep pace up 🫢

I am a junior there now! I love the course but there just aren’t enough competitions.. only one a month. It’s a shame as they have such good facilities so could have an excellent junior program! ❤️

My suggestion is to stand behind your ball , line up to your target, pick a spot one foot ( 1ft ) in front of your ball and try to hit your ball over that spot.

Mia, I love your videos. watch your video closely, I think a very high percentage of your irons tend to go left while your drives tend to go right , I'm not a pro by any stretch but next time on the range try putting your ball forward in your stance on the drives and back slightly for the irons. your shots seem to be very consistent which in golf is good.. I really enjoy seeing your game progress, a real inspiration !

Just saying, if you're trying to find your handicap (as official as you can) - you can't take a drop 'up there' if you hit it into the trees and lose it. You have to take stroke and distance, see re-take that shot with a penalty drop.

I guess it depends on how the course is staked. If she found the ball and it is red stakes at the tree line, then it was played properly. Or, you know, we can just let her score her own round under the obvious assumption that she's not trying to build a professional handicap rank here...

I thought the exact same thing. On my golf course, and not in competition, we play a local rule that allows a 2 stroke penalty and drop where the ball entered the trees. It speeds up play. That said, I have never played in competition but do appreciate faster play rules.

@@sfink16 Totally. People comment on these videos like these are pro rules when pace of play should be more of an incentive to air on the side of lenience. These comments often come from people who play the tips but can’t even break 90 from the whites yet. 😅

Another very enjoyable video. It has been very nice to watch your progression. I notice when you play these rounds by yourself, you only do partial shot routines, instead of taking a bit more time and going through your full focused routines. In this video, almost all day, you were setting up at to the hole at about the 11:00 o'clock position, thus your "left" shots were dominant, even though the reality was that you were hitting most right where you were aimed. But, sometimes, that's just golf!!

Work on knowing where your club face is generally pointed, to ensure a 1-way miss. Your ball striking esp on holes 4-9 was just all over the place.

Not a men's tee but a yellow tee :) tee boxes are not gender specified. Mia hits it quite far so she probably doesn't want to hit from the red tees

@@Elisaiop123 In France : Black Tee: Men's black tee,then White tee ( Men's) Yellow tee (Men's). Blue tee ( women) and lastly, red tee ( women). I don't know how it works in the UK

@@CMBelite-FR It used to be similar in the UK White and Yellow Mens, Red Womens but now it's more based on your skill level, high handicapper\beginner red tees, high\mid yellow tees, low handicapper white, some courses have more than 3 tee options but you get the general idea.

Par 5.. Hit the Fwy Driver 1, 2nd shot OB+2, 3rd shot on the green, 4th shot 1 putt. 4 + 2 stroke OB Penaly is 6, Bogey, Not Par.

Most public courses (here in Australia) prefer if you drop from a lost ball, as it doesn't cause a hold up in play. You drop from the fairway for a 2 stroke penalty (local rule). If it's a practice round, just play, don't stick to tournament rules if it's going to ruin the flow and the fun.

Model Local Rule E-5 “When a player’s ball has not been found or is known or virtually certain to be out of bounds, the player may proceed as follows rather than proceeding under stroke and distance. For two penalty strokes, the player may take relief by dropping the original ball or another ball in this relief area (see Rule 14.3): Two Estimated Reference Points: a. Ball Reference Point: The point where the original ball is estimated to have: Come to rest on the course, or Last crossed the edge of the course boundary to go out of bounds. b. Fairway Reference Point: The point of fairway of the hole being played that is nearest to the ball reference point, but is not nearer the hole than the ball reference point. For purposes of this Local Rule, “fairway” means any area of grass in the general area that is cut to fairway height or less. If a ball is estimated to be lost on the course or last crossed the edge of the course boundary short of the fairway, the fairway reference point may be a grass path or a teeing ground for the hole being played cut to fairway height or less.

You need to come and play the course I’m a member at in Dorset Isle of purbeck 👌👌👌 you will never find better views over poole harbour , Bournemouth bay and the isle of white The course is unique not a dull hole and they all have their individual challenges it’s a special place 👌👌👌

On the 3rd hole (first par 5) shouldn't you have taken a one stroke penalty and played the shot again rather than dropping it on the fairway where you thought it hit the tree.

I know it's just a practice round but if you don't play by the rules you are just cheating yourself and will probably get DQ'd in a tournament one day.

Except she has played in the biggest tournaments in front of cameras and rules officials (re Major pro-ams and Aramco). She knows how to play by the rules, it's just not necessary for a practice round when you want to have fun or have limited time.
