What do you think about making trim rings out of ally? I’m a metal worker so would be easy for me to knock them up

What adhesive did you use? I used 3m hi-strength 90 spray adhesive to flip the sides of the foam over the ring and it’s been pretty painful.. keep flopping back.

Any spray adhesive. They are all pretty good. You spray both surfaces. Wait. And then press yeah?

Recently came across your videos. Very informative and inspirational. I've recently purchased a new shape crafter to convert and am looking at starting off with the evo side pods. Do you think the flarespace trims would fit a crafter? If so how did you import them in? Many thanks

I don’t imagine they fit crafter as they are so precise. Not in fit. But in size. By the time I put tweed around the edge it was tight 👍🏻

yep, I concur, it looks pretty pucker mate. You have an eye for detail that is rare in the diy van conversion world. I've seen some hash jobs. Yours is very professional Aidan. I opted to sleep the other way and have the end of the bed telescopic, so retracting about 8 inches during the day and the kitchen worktop running partly under the bed. It saves a lot on Flarespace work and money. Would be interested in what kit you have in mind for the rest of the project.

Looks really nice , I like the Velcro idea , I am at a similar stage but few weeks behind you so great to watch . Can I ask what main wall panel cladding material you used is ? looks nice and light , thinking I might ditch my 9mm marine ply plan . I am thinking you must secure overhead lockers to the van with rivnuts and not rely on the cladding to fix to. Keep up the good work 👍

Hi. Yes exact that. I use thin hardboard. It has no structural element. By the time I foam and fabric it you could never hurt it. But like you said. Find support in the van it self. I went crazy with ply on my other van and it ended up being so overweight.

Tip for marking holes through the material. Use a soldering iron. That'll also clear any material around the hole to stop the fixing from snagging. Informative videos by the way 🤙

You could in fact fix the wall panel to the ring. Lift it out. And then run a pencil around the inside. I like to use a router. Better than a jigsaw 👍🏻

I meant before you routed. When you put the trim ring up to the flare and used a pencil to mark where the trim ring over hung and jigsawed where you were going to cut the excess.. wondering how you traced which parts to cut
