Another thing we learned from COVID is that Robert has a hell of a sense of humor. Thanks for coming out of your shell, man.

He's always been that way. Watch older interviews, such as the one of him on the Video Music Channel in Atlanta 1984. There are others. I had a really amusing moment with him when seeing him with the League of Crafty Guitarists in 1991. I had on a t-shirt with a very psychedelic looking longhorn on it. As he passed by me (I was standing, and hadn't made my way to my seat yet), with the LoCG in tow behind him, he walked up to me, put his index finger right to my shirt, made a wise crack (which I can't recall at this late date, something about Texas and cattle) looked at me and laughed warmly, as I laughed with him. Then he made his way to the stage with the rest of the ensemble. I stood there somewhat stunned because, like you, I'd always assumed he was only deadly serious. From that point on, I continued to find further evidence of his light hearted side. It has always been there. It's that most people never take the time, or have the interest to dig in and find what's beyond the public face he often presents.

Daryl is the singer Robert has always dreamed of, and it's because Daryl could switch from full-gear rock n' roll into subtle mysticism at will. It's so wonderful to see these two do something together in recorded video ! Hopefully, they get together to tour someday, that would be amazing.

This is absolutely amazing. I bought Exposure when I was 19 and just loved it so much. Back when it came out it was challenging music and it was hard to share that love with friends. Thanks to Daryl's willingness to make musical love with anyone, his killer band, and KZbin, we can all share something really unique and beautiful

Ahh, the memories! I heard rumors of the 1977 recording session back in the day, but I waited forever for something to be released. When I was told that Sacred Songs had finally hit the streets, I immediately snapped up a copy. My prog rock friends ridiculed me for buying the album, expecting to hear another version of Hall & Oates. Much to their shock, they heard a side of Daryl Hall that the vast majority of civilization still has no idea exists. Under the auspices of Robert Fripp, blue-eyed soul is a completely unique animal, and I sincerely hope that this video shows the world just how incredibly versatile Daryl Hall truly is. Don't lose your lease, brother!

The Sacred Songs album holds special place in my heart and record collection. Who would have thought the combination of Daryl Hall and Robert Fripp would work so well? If I see this album in your record collection it's like we've given each other a secret club handshake and we're going to get along just fine. Please Robert and Daryl - Do a follow-up to Sacred Songs! ("More Sacred Songs"? "Sacred Songs II"?) Have Daryl re-enact his "Christ Teaching" pose but as he appears now with his beard and sunglasses to fortify the point that the album is a "Part 2". Maybe even have Robert strike the same pose next to Daryl for the cover shot to signify both their involvement. Have Toyah Wilcox (Robert's wife) do the vocals on a re-imagining of Exposure - That would be a hoot!

A lesson to be learned: never let your managers make artistic decisions for you. Daryl's manager worried about this collaboration affecting Daryl's career deprived us of his vocals for so many, many years from the Exposure album. Artists should always leave their comfort zones. Look at Prince, he could walk in and out from genre to genre, from style to style so effortlessly. The power of artistic freedom, and it's what we just witnessed here.

The fact they haven’t played this music is 44 years means they are playing it with the same excitement that they brought to the music when they first played it. I bought Exposure for 99 cents back in 1980 and was surprised to hear Darryl Hall as vocalist. Even though I’d enjoyed Hall And Oates up to then, I had new respect for him ever since. And thanks to RF for keeping it fresh and real.

I'm not ashamed to say that I am a 62 year old Daryl Hall superfan and this is why. The man understands music and what moves my soul... he just gets me or I guess I get him. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks that. Mind you, this is not my favorite of his musical output but I still very much appreciate what it communicates.

Love it!!! As soon as that "run" started, the years and decades just peeled away with every note! Oh the ENERGY! I was not really expecting each and every one of these versions to be so damned GOOD! I'm not fan of old-fart concerts, I was blessed with being able to see most of these artists back in the day but this collaboration after all this time is just exceptional! Nice to feel forty-whatever years disappear for a while. I love having that memory back of playing Darryl's Sacred Songs for the first time and just being blown away by it. Not the Radio Darryl ! It sucks that his manager pulled three of his vocals off of Exposure because of the fear it would affect his wallet. In any case, what a pleasure to see these two back together, and with such a jaw-dropping band

Yeah! NYCNY! Way to get it down! (#MyHomeTown) NYC can be so intense and frenetic, but then there is all the Creative and the Music! As you said to Bill, Daryl, its "Love/Hate but there is always a tranquil spot if you know where to seek. Such a unique and musically expressive song - Music is infinite nuances, variations and possibilities. Robert Fripps Music, and Daryl's House Band and you on Grand, definitely "take it to Another Level"!! Love the vibe of "all that at once" then the smokey jazzy feel. Captures the intensity and abrasive sounds, and energy of NYC,NY as well as one great reason to be there, The Music.
