EP96 Rimuru VS Michael; The Fallen of Manas Michael

I mentioned few times in previous episodes that Rimuru acquired Velzard dragon factor by absorbing Michael, but didn’t that Rimuru now became the only known being with existence value above 200 million, even surpassing 250 million. (Rimuru EP 10.961.123, counting his draconic sword + Veldora EP 88.126.579 + Velgrynd EP 74.350.087 + Velzard EP surpassing 80 million. Rimuru maximum EP would be at least 253.437.789, reigning at the top of existence values) Here is where theories emerge, so let’s gather thoughts: Michael was disappearing but felt a sense of joy, something he didn’t experienced in 2000 years since Veldanava death. While being absorbed by azathoth he felt a nostalgic comfort, a warmth enveloping him, he felt becoming part of a place that had everything and as such was not alone any longer, and also a sense of fulfillment. Not only that but this is the first time Rimuru felt fullness filling his heart, something he never felt when using Gluttony/Beelzebuth/Azathoth before. So let’s start: Michael lowered his guard when Chloe mockingly said that being a manas was nothing out of the ordinary, so perhaps he was shocked because he could probably feel another Manas from within Rimuru. And while I believe that, I think it’s not the only reason. Rimuru/Ciel used Nihility Collapse energy in the attack that finished Michael, a power that only Veldanava had and could control in the past. Rimuru needs Ciel assistance but, unlike Benimaru or Zegion, he can use it without sustaining injuries and that’s something only Veldanava could do. So Michael was astonished that the slime demon lord could use the same power as his creator and master, the star king dragon. He felt joy for probably two reasons: Veldanava had abandoned him and he didn’t want to acknowledge that, but maybe he started thinking that his creator had indeed reincarnated but now was known as the demon lord Rimuru Tempest. That or he saw Rimuru as the perfect vessel for Veldanava to return, because not only Rimuru had nihility collapse but he also acquired the 14 angelic ultimate skills and his own dragon factor + Veldora, Velgrynd and Velzard factors. Michael probably understood that Rimuru had evolved into a true dragon, and such, his factor would be necessary for Veldanava future return. Therefore the nostalgic comfort, the warmth enveloping him, the fulfillment, becoming part of a place that had everything and not being alone could mean that Michael understood that he was returning to the place he originally and always belonged to. That being together once more with his master Veldanava now reincarnated as Rimuru Tempest alongside the other angelic ultimate skills. Or he could feel all those sensations because he was becoming part of the perfect vessel for his creator to return to, that had angelic skills, nihility collapse and the 4 true dragon factors. I personally believe Rimuru is Veldanava reincarnated because the only moment he felt a sense of fullness filling his heart was when he absorbed Michael, the remaining angelic skills and Velzard dragon factor. This could mean that Rimuru fullness was due to him acquiring back all of his original self (including Michael and all the remaining 7 virtues, and also gathering together his siblings dragon factors). Veldanava lost his power when he created the world, the system, the skills and also when Milim was born, but some characters believed he could probably return at any moment if he so desired. I think he reincarnated in the same way Veldora has done in the past, but a bit more extreme: Veldora, Velzard and Velgrynd can revive themselves without having to submit to anyone but they lose parts of their memories and a bit of their personalities. Veldanava probably chose to reincarnate in another universe 2000 years later with his personality intact, but without memories. Pretty much a “new him”, that being Satoru Mikami/Rimuru Tempest. New in terms of who he is, because if we consider the “screentime” Veldanava had in the LN, he and Rimuru have similar personalities and traits: both are rulers, they meddle with skills and the system of the world freely, they pass their tasks towards other people (Guy as a mediator, Ramiris as a guide for heroes and the seven angels of origin as protectors. As for Rimuru, it’s his daily life in tempest and also when he asks Diablo to keep Guy occupied/busy for example). Both can be really cunning when they want to. In the WN, Lucia soul was connected to Wisdom King Raphael so if this plot is reused in the LN, Lucia probably waited to be together once more with her love, waiting for the day he would return to the cardinal world since earth didn’t had the skills system. Satoru Mikami is always destined to reincarnate as Rimuru tempest in the tensura main world, and also reunite with great sage (and considering the current main timeline of the series, he is also destined to save the tensura world from Feldway and Ivarage destruction) The main timeline we see is the one where Rimuru Tempest returns to his original home and slowly regains all the strength and power he once possessed, even surpassing his previous prime since he acquired power his Veldanava self didn’t had, and also reunites with his love Lucia now as Ciel (Because of his status as god he couldn’t love a specific person or creation more than others, therefore the voice of the world tried to get rid of Veldanava and Lucia since that meant a imbalance in the rules of that world. Reason why Veldanava lost nihility collapse when reality was created and most of the rest of his power when Milim was born, making his immortal life span decrease to a human one. The only way for Veldanava to love and be with Lucia without any consequences would be if their consciousness were merged together in a single soul, a stated very unique existence and the reason why Rimuru and Ciel can’t use parallel existence since it would divide their consciousness. Since Ciel is part of Rimuru soul, the voice of the world would recognize Rimuru tempest as only him and not Ciel).

Ciel too is reviving veldanava. ciel knew that michael's way of it is flawed. In michael's last moments he felt the warmth of joy of returning to his master's side, the only thing he ever wanted. Just a hunch.

This episode really points to rimuru being a reincarnation of veldenanva, from Michel feeling satisfied and feeling completed when he was absorbed to him asking rimuru who he truly was, is an indication he kinda realizes that rimuru is his master veldanava in some aspects. But quiet astonishing it is, the ease at which ciel dispatched the enemy leader i am sure if we have another meeting between guy and rimuru, guy is sure to grill rimuru about all this. So at this point its safe to say rimuru is the strongest character in the series currently i assume as well which is crazyy.

In the WN, during the final battle, it was clear that Guy had already fallen behind Rimuru, A LOT behind. In my opinion, Rimuru in the WN is much stronger. Guy had become accustomed to Rimuru’s extraordinary abilities, although he himself had also obtained a God Level Ultimate Skill. However, in his own words, he wouldn’t challenge an opponent unless he was confident of victory, so he won't challenge Rimuru. Of course, his pride prevented him from admitting Rimuru’s absolute strength, but it was already very obvious in his actions.

It happens a lot with most media, for example Spider-Man’s original costume colours were red and black however in order to give the black sections shading they were coloured as blue. This would then get mistranslated by others resulting in the eventual change to red and distinctive light blue. In terms of anime there are multiple series were the characters colours from a manga or light novel are changed for the screen (Dragonball, JoJo, Naruto etc) and these changes can vary from a colour not working as well when animated as opposed to in a still (for example Chloe’s hair is black but in order to help highlight it and distinguish it’s from other blacks used on the screen the colour looks more like deep violet than black) to animation directors or artists personal choice.

Considering how it notes how Michael was abandoned and kept living in denial, it might be a similar note to the end of the web novel where Yuuki who was alone, went into Rimuru’s stomach, which is essentially heaven, was no longer alone and felt warmth. I don’t think Rimuru is Veldanava, or at least that’s what I gathered from the web novel. It could be different in the light novel. I think Michael felt the warmth that Yuuki and the Orc Disaster and everyone else who gets devoured by Rimuru feels.

Nobody knows for sure, but based on the plot of volume 21 and the general storyline of the web novel, Rimuru is likely to return and defeat Feldway and Ivarage, probably at the Star Palace. Perhaps Rimuru will use Ivarage's core to revive Gaia, and then Rimuru will return to Earth to save himself. Guy and Rimuru will bring Velzard back too.

Considering many LN Character's Can travel between World's it is less likely That Fuse Gonna take the WN Route. There isn't a definitive answer at the moment. I mentioned it in EP 56. One possibility is that Veldanava and Lucia want to be resurrected simultaneously without violating the world's rule that "God's love is equal." Maybe merging into one is a way to achieve this. Of course, there's also the possibility that he has actually given up on this world, which is what Feldway believes.
