Was one of my favorite attraction in EPCOT. Showed the heritage of my ancestry. Now it’s all Frozen...doesn’t show anything of the heritage of Norway. Hell, Hans Christian Andersen isn’t even Norwegian...he’s Danish.

It’s amazing how vividly your mind can retain memories that you don’t even think about until they are triggered. Even tiny insignificant ones. I went on the Norway ride at Epcot with my mom in December 1990 (I was 10) and again in March 1992. 30 and 28 years ago!! But as soon as I saw that little boy in this movie walking around that boat in that museum....I immediately remembered it. I especially remember that the screen they showed this movie on was HUGE! Like IMAX size I believe. Those trips to Disney with my mom are so memorable for me. Anyway, thanks for sharing!!!

This is my favorite movie in epcot, so sad to see it go and be replaced with an animated movie. When I go to the showcase I want a flavor of the actual country, that is what it was originally intended to be. They already messed with the restaurant, so there wont be much left here :(

Thanks for this. I miss the whole attraction, but perhaps most of all this little gem of a film, by the end so sadly scorned by guests rushing to tick off the next box. Yes, a few scenes were badly dated, but most of it was timeless, and delightful. Some of the best of the old Epcot; now, alas, replaced by a Fantasyland dark ride.

I'm curious when a snippet of the film was removed. During the part where they talk of Traditions, with the festival/parade - an earlier version showed a glimpse of their royal family(?) on the balcony, several scenes show children waiving to them. When/why was that balcony scene removed?
@ResortTV19 жыл бұрын
I Betcha I actually remember this as well. I think it may have been removed when the royal family changed?

the movie could use a wee bit of an updating…just on some of the techno stuff and the fashion bit. Other than that - it's mostly about history and the natural beauty of Norway. I do have to say, the bits of the boy in the museum cut ingot he viking bits with the dramatic music reminds me of Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Every time I've gone to this ride the people opted out of the movie. It was not as interesting as France or China's films. Didn't really inspire anyone to travel to Norway.
