The others hate us. But during all year we build our own identity and create our own rugby in our own national championship to show the world how strong we can be, even if international referees don't like us.

I really did not think that even a strong team as Toulouse could be competitive against a South African franchise. We know that SA franchises used to defeat even the best formations fo Waharatahs, Rebels, Crisaders, Blues... and we know that Super Rugby has been the most high level competition in the World. I thought that Sa franchise vs French one = 70:3 or similar score but French players have found skills and physical fitness that I would have not guessed they could have got.

Once we have a solid fan base of the sport, they’ll then follow provincial franchises and the focus will be on being domestically competitive although I suspect that due to schools also introducing rugby there’ll be plenty of talent to choose from. Few will make it to the Boks and the rest of the talent will be at franchises. Look at Masuku. No space in the Boks but he’s a brilliant player. Same with Simelane, Ethan Hooker etc.

Again, long trips, different seasons and weather, stadiums that are half empty, at best, for the vast majority of the games (I know SA teams use larger stadiums but it looks terrible with so many empty seats), schedule that doesn't make sense (why not having SA teams play in Europe when they're playing there for the URC, instead of so much back and forth). So far, SA franchises bring absolutely nothing positive to this competition. This game was expected to be great, yet a top 14 game between clubs that are seating at the bottom of the standings is far more enjoyable. Seems like the Bulls sent a B squad to Castres (a club that is notorious for not taking the competition seriously, with poor performances) and got trashed. Things need to change. I am all for inviting teams from other countries, when it makes sense and done right.

Sharks had half their A team due to injuries while Toulouse played their full A team and still only won by 12 points (I know the score could've been bigger) but it wasn't and it would've been way closer if we had all our springboks because the entire team plays completely different in their style of play when they have Fassi, Esterhuizen, Grant Williams, Lukanyo Am and Eben Etzebeth. It's not just about individual brilliance when we have them, as I said, literally the entire team plays different when they are there.

@Bonono14 It's funny how you guys laugh at us when you beat us without even considering that you have all your internationals playing for your club teams while most of our internationals are playing for overseas clubs and the few that were at the sharks on the weekend, were only half of their springboks playing yet you celebrate like you've won a world cup. Bringing the international rugby topic in the conversation is ALSO just a small reminder of who really dominates this sport when we have all of our best players, playing together. As I said, on club level, we don't have the privilage of all our internationals playing for our provinsial teams unlike teams like Leinster and Toulouse who are basically Ireland dressed in blue and France dressed in red respectively.

This is the first time the so-called God of European rugby played a full match in the Southern Hemisphere after playing here almost 8 years ago. He's clearly an overrated showpony, he did nothing spectacular yesterday. He's no better than a prime Faf de Klerk. Magician? Master tactician? Hell no He's certainly an inspirational captain that makes a few linebreaks. But he doesn't carry the team. Toulose are the 6 time European champions and the richest club in the world with the most expensively assembled team. They didn't look the part in Durban.
