Everyone let’s be clear : “Crystal night is coming” wasn’t referring to the historical event but to what crystal symbolizes : transparency, purity. They even talk about that in “the crystals that protected us are shattered” which means that there is no more purity in this world and that hypocrisy and lies just fucked up the “transparency” of the world. The “crystal night is coming” alludes to the fact that the world is going to be pure again and transparent which means without hypocrisy, lies and manipulation. “Night” is also a metaphor to depict the darkness of the society we live in. If you take in consideration ALL the lyrics that’s what is denounced throughout the song, nothing to do with “crystal night” of 1938 and we find that reference in a lot of poems actually, it is often used as a metaphor… Also, about the clothes, I mean this kind of uniform obviously looks like nazis’ one because it is a military one. Other idols wore it such as ATEEZ in “Wonderland” and they weren’t accused of being nazis… If we consider history to put clothes on then we should say to all the people wearing Hugo Boss they are nazis too since this brand participated actively in the nazi party until its capitulation and manufactured the uniforms of soldiers. I hear a lot of German people, maybe you are actually one of them saying that they are ashamed of the past actions of Hitler but why are you? It wasn’t you, I mean every country has its own more or less dark history but we should just learn through it not to do the same mistakes and we shouldn’t live depending on it. I totally understand that you guys could have been shocked by the sentence due to your history but please try to see the lyrics as they are with an objective point of view. C9 you need to take responsibility for this. Please deal with the matter quickly and properly and ensure that EPEX don't have to suffer because of your mistakes. I know that in this industry the idols get little to no say in what they sing. Please don't let EPEX take the fall for you. Edit: I am really impressed by the speed in which the company have handled the situation. i posted this comment on their dance practice fix ver. and someone asked me to post it here. it’s about the change in lyrics. the time stamps will most likely not work. -- it’s think it’s easier to hear them outside of the chorus because it’s pretty loud. i can show you a few of the parts that were changed if you would like to see? also maybe you don’t know the members names well, so i apologize for thinking you would know which one is wish. i added the members names to help. 0:37 member, ayden: “수정 속의 *나* “ the original lyric was -> 수정 속의 *밤* , 나(na) vs 밤(bam). 0:49 member, wish: “오늘 *난* “ the original lyric was -> 오늘 *밤* , 난(nan) vs 밤(bam). 0:57 member, mu: “i see them *running now* “ the original lyric -> i see them *burning raw* . 0:59 member, ayden: “ crystal *light* is coming.” the original lyric -> crystal *night* is coming. 2:41* member, keum: “ crystal *light* is coming.” the original lyric -> crystal *night* is coming. 2:48 member, wish: “ crystal *light* is coming.” the original lyric -> crystal *night* is coming. i think it’s very clear on ayden’s part in the beginning if you compare it with the original audio vs this edited audio. he says *bam* with great pronunciation, but here you can hear he says *na* . it may be a bit hard to hear the *running now* part, but i definitely hear the change in *crystal light* . also this video was definitely shot before they changed the lyrics (you can tell by keum donghyun’s pastel blue hair as this was probably recorded before the song was released as keum has blond hair now and in their concept photos.) so that’s why the lip syncing is off. you can tell it’s off when ayden says “밤” though the audio says “나”. they also preformed live on idol radio with the changed lyrics. you can hear the change very well there.
