Hey! I’m relatively new to comic book collecting and I’ve mainly been only collecting monster/ghost comics from the 60’s-70’s but I’m interested in the more niche super heroes as well, I discovered the speedball comics from the early 80’s and I was wondering what other hero’s similar to speedball that are lesser known and more niche had stand alone comics from the early 80’s and prior! I wanted to ask someone with a vast comic book knowledge lol
@pop-comics2 жыл бұрын
There are a bunch of short lived series with less popular odd characters haha what I would do is go to mycomicshop.com look up say speedball then click on the publisher marvel. This will give you a list of all the titles Marvel has published. You can then click on all the runs that have just a few issues from the 1980s and earlier and that will allow you to explore and possible find something you enjoy.

I got a question sir,im gonna start collecting comics and whats different between bronze,silver,modern age mean?
@pop-comics2 жыл бұрын
Its the eras that comics were published. Action comics #1 starts the golden age of comics which started in the late 1930s and ends in 1956. The Silver Age starts with the first appearance of Barry Allen as the flash in Showcase #4 and ends at the end of 1960s. Bronze Age comics are from 1970 to 1984 Copper age is 1984 until the early 1990s then its modern age.
@garyfenlon57692 жыл бұрын
The 'Teen Titans' signed issues, how much more will you pay for them because they are signed?
@pop-comics2 жыл бұрын
I think $10-$20 more each depending on the issue and the quality of the signature for the Teen titans and I think on DC Comics presents 26 it increased my offer price by $50
@pulsarstargrave2562 жыл бұрын
I saw something in that batch I frequently search for: any appearance of ZATANNA in her silver and red "Jeannie" style! Anyway, how this person arranged these boxes just violates my sensibilities! There seems to be no pattern, as if he just tossed stacks of books into boxes without a plan!
@pop-comics2 жыл бұрын
I don't know about that, this collection seemed way more organized then what I normally buy. It was sorted mostly by character and in numerical order. Unless your being sarcastic lol Aquaman together, flash together, green lantern together, wonder woman together etc. Also he was not a run builder for newer stuff, he just had the key issues. As for the Zatanna issues there were a few with that suit which was cool!
@pulsarstargrave2562 жыл бұрын
@@pop-comics I guess I'm more of a "Felix Unger" type where they would be in strict alphabetical order and arranged by the years, not jumping back and forth between ages. To me, it seemed like each box did its own thing! (Justice League after Wonder Woman?) BTW what makes the Barry Allen Flash cool?
@pop-comics2 жыл бұрын
Showcase #4 aka the first Appearance of Barry Allen is considered the beginning of the silver age of comics so he is super important to comic history. Its also the Barry Allen Flash that was featured in the 1990s Flash show, the CW Flash show from the last decade or so and the Flash in the current DC Cinematic Universe. He was the central character in Flash Point which was the catalyst that brought on the New 52. He was a founding member of the Justice League. His death in the Crisis on Infinite Earths brought an end to the bronze age of comics and brought on the Copper Age. The Multiverse was first introduced in Flash 123. I think hes pretty cool and a important part of comic history.
