1:10:51 Even though I am in my 50’s, the way he told that story brought me back to my youth, listening to my grandfather (who was from Belfast) tell me stories of WWII. :-)

I first flew a DC-3 at age 3.... my father was the Captain of the flight!! Unfortunately, it wasn''t until 12 years later that I logged my first legal dual instruction.... in 1964. Great time to learn how to fly!!!

I’m just back to listen to 1:06:36 - 1:09:00 due to being among the most mesmerizing and relaxing sounds that literally melts my brain. I was able to find some simulated DC-3 propeller ASMR sounds but it’s never the same nor captured as well as this video.

I feel you, that sound is smooth like butter. I love the DC-3 for that, maybe I should start an ASMR Channel haha

Love it. As a kiwi I first flew in a Dak back in 1955 at the age of 9 to Nelson. I remember having a window seat over the wing. But what intrigued me was watching one of the rivets spinning in its hole. Years later, I of course realised that that was not normal. Enjoying your channel. Keep em coming. Take care.

I wonder if that airplane is a C-53? US Air Force C-47s had a cargo door and the later contracted DC-3 versions were contracted as C-53. It’s really only a curiosity because the airplanes were identical and the only way to tell is the builder’s plaque in the cockpit.
