Epic 50th Birthday Ride: 1200m Descent in Eastern Austria!

For my 50th birthday this year, I treated myself to a fantastic enduro ride with a thrilling 1200 meters of descent on some of the best trails in eastern Austria.
Unlike most of my videos, I won't disclose the exact location due to the sensitive MTB situation in Austria. But I couldn't resist sharing this adventure with you all.

Happy Birthday Christian!!! I can't think of a better way to spend the day. Those views at the top were spectacular! The trails in the woods looked really steep at times, great job navigating them. The second trail (part 2) seemed fast and flowy.

Thanks a lot Sage, sry for the late reply. COVID knocked me and my family out for a week (yes it's still a thing 🤮). That ride was long due and what better day to do it 😁 The uphill is exhausting, cause it's 1200 meters uphill with gradients above 25% in the end, but it's worth it. It's the most alpine you will get on the bike in the part of austria where I currently live.

@@TrailSage Thanks for the well wishes Sage, we're almost fine again. We all tested negative today, so for that matter we shouldn't be contageous anymore, but I still fell the damage to my body. I did my last ride on Friday last week, not knowing that the virus was just about to start wreak havoc in my body. My form was really good and so I pushed on the first climb. I was able to push out some serous watss but it fellt kind of awkward because I didn't regenerate on the downhill ... second climb was cumbersome and on the third climb I was cramping up in my thighs - which I usually never do. Two days later I tested positive and another day later I was almost unable to clime the stairs in my house. But luckily it only took two days of suffering for all of us until we got better. It's still a serious illness, hope it leaves no lasting toll on my fitness. Would be a shame if I find a reason to finally cave and get an e-Bike ... I noticed yout took a taste of that medicine yourself revently 😆

Gratuliere zum 50. - so macht Geburtstag Spass. Das war also im Sommer, wie bei mir. Die ersten 600hm habe mir sehr gefallen, die würde ich auch gerne fahren. CU 2025

Danke Markus! Ja, war eine würdige Ausfahrt! Ja oben ist der Trail richtig schön alpin mit Aussicht. Die Berge geben nicht ganz soviel her wie in der Schweiz oder Westösterreich, aber 1200 Tiefenmeter sind trotzdem sehr ok ;-)

Das mit dem Gesund bleiben ist die Challenge 🤪 Ein paar Tage nach dem Ausflug hat meine Frau bei einer Zugfahrt COVID aufgeschnappt und wir sind als Family eine Woche flach gelegen ... hat ein paar meiner Pläne durchkreuzt, aber dafür werd ich im August einiges nachholen, Jetzt geht's erstmal ohne Bike in den Urlaub! lg christian
