Hi, it's nice to see this video sharing the military tradition... so others may know, the word "BOODLE" originated in the United States Military Academy also known as West Point. This military terminology called boodle means food. This U.S. military jargon was adopted by the Philippine Military Academy, Philippine Air Force Flying School, and Philippine Merchant Marine Academy. Military Cadets in their 4th class (1st Year) in the military academy or military schools usually cannot eat well because of the military tradition called the square meal. What these cadets do is gather at night at sneak (It's called take life). They collect all the boodles they can easily provide like noodles, sardines, rice, and other instant meal, and put them in a newspaper (not banana leaf). Once the noodles are prepared, the cadets start to commence the "Boodle Fight"_. The cadets can sleep with a good load of food after they take life. The Filipino tradition is called "KAMAYAN" using the coconut shell as their plate. The United States Marines called it "CHOW" which was also adopted by the Philippine Marines and Philippine Merchant Marines Academy Cadets.

Philippines being seperated from mainland asia makes their food very unique. Sort of like a mix of hispanic and asian.
@HanakoHaruka3 жыл бұрын
lol it's an same style in Indonesian/malays, arabs, south asians (indians) and Myanmar using their bare hands to eat, because the religion is muslim and Hinduism, filipinos is predominant Christianity but they also have muslim religions in Mindanao

@@cielosalvador4726 most of our identity is not Hispanic, I'm not talking about religion ok, it's a culture and tradition, like you said filipinos are Hispanic but not all Filipinos look full Hispanic, before the Spanish colonial era, our ancestors came from Taiwan (Austronesian people started at 4000Ad it began to spread in Maritime Southeast asia (Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia) to the Pacific islands (Polynesia, Micronesia, Melanesia) and Madagascar), because Philippines have diverse culture, you know Ifugao Society build a massive stone structure called Banaue rice terraces, which located on the northern highlands of Luzon, but Filipinos also have Writing systems like baybayin (it's an indic writing script similar to sanskrit and Javanese) the Laguna copper Inscription was based on javanese were only mention in medan kingdom of Indonesia. fun facts about Filipino cuisine, Filipino Adobo is a national indigenous dish in the Philippines, it is made of Soy sauce (came from China by trade) Vinegar (it's made of fermented sugar cane) and spices (Lemongrass, black pepper, Laurel leaf and onion) the term of "Adobo" is in latin word "Adobar" means "marinated" but when the Spanish explored the Philippines, they realize that they have adobo dish in pre-colonial period. other Filipino cuisines that are not Hispanic influence such as Sisig, Balut, Lumpiang Shanghai, Pancit noodles (Canton, Bihon, Palabok etc..), Kare-Kare, Toron, Ginataang kohol, Bikol express, Ukoy, Bibingka, Maranao Beef rendang and more. the pre-colonial Philippine society is more related to the southeast asian but there is no centralized government that can create an empire to expand (Kingdom of tondo, ifugao tribal groups, Rajahnates, Huangdoms and Sultanates) the religion in the Philippines before Christianity in 1565, Animist ang Paganist are the native religion of the Philippines but the Animist religion are very related to the Hinduism and Buddhism influence (Diwatas, Aswang, Bakunawa, and the natural spirits) but the Spanish colonizers almost wiped out our native religion except muslim because they are sultanates that came from Mindanao, in cultural dance and musics, many Filipinos practice Fandango dance, Salakot dance, tinkling, sinulog and more Hispanic dance. other traditional dance include, Pangalay, Itik-itik, Singkil, etc... so the culture, tradition, cuisine and identity, were more related to Southeast Asian than Hispanic culture, SO THE PHILIPPINES IS SOUTHEAST ASIAN!!!

@@HanakoHaruka omg you dont know a thing. 😂 i know a lot of filipinos doesnt have a spanish blood in them im saying the culture and traditions are more hispanic than asian you dont need any spanisg blood to be hispanic we re not talking about ethnicity the problem woth you filipinos are you guys dont know your identity we know you guys are asian in general. 😭
