Seeing the Charger, Mustang together again is just amazing in what they represent to the film and car culture around the world. My late cousin's husband worked for Steve McQueen's company Solar productions up until his death, restoring some of Steves's incredible motorcycles. Steve had planned to open a museum,etc on the east coast prior to his death. My cousin's husband Steven Wright had told me, he had scouted some locations for Steve. Sadly it never happened. Steve did say he was upset about the sale of the motorcycles in that they had never approached him about purchasing any prior to the estate sale.

I did cry at the sight of that historic reunion!? That was absolutely beautiful. Thank you to the participants of the recreation at that event. It was good to see that there's still nostalgic enthusiasts out there?

Funny...the Charger has been pretty much proven to be the actual car from the film, as verified by the camera mounts all over the body, the equipment it was born with, and the original paint underneath all the top layers, with a black squirtjob in the mix. Yet the announcers focus only on the Mustang, which was used for the close-up shots of Steve.

14 yrs old. I got a 68 440 rt charger for 700 bucks. The car was 10 years old. An perfect. Like a idiot. I sold it a few year later😔

The roads were shut down...they didn't film in san fransisco without police knowledge and cooperation.it took a couple weeks to film that montage..

also in two scenes I remebered,went the Charger went around the corner & over shot it,it hit a parked car with the camara on the car,they kept part of that scene and when Bullet missed the turn he was supposed to make, that's why he STOPPED DEAD, backed all the way back, which I was sweating,cause of the back wheels were wheel hopping so bad,I thought the axel would brake off. .Seems like everyone is talking about how many times that GREEN VM was in some shots,but count how many times that same Camaro came in the shots from different angles,that black Caddy was in 2 shots

In McQueen’s biography he said the crew had to put a aftermarket cam headers and exhaust in that 390 to keep up with the completely stock 440, so there’s that

This is the car that McQueen drove...for the "Hero" shots. The other car was used for the hard stunts, like the jumping.

I will comment every time I see this FAKE replica off the mustang on you tube explain too me how the replica has a front fender mounted radio antenna when both cars used in the movie had passenger side rear mounted antennas and why is there no body damage......if you look up the making off built you will see stills off both these cars with all kind off body damage essentially the front bumpers .and the drivers fender ...and it’s funny they waited till all the famous people associated with the car are long dead ....this is just a half ass copy were someone thought too cash in on a great movie and disrespect too Steve McQueen....it is said that the owner turned down 2 offers from McQueen himself too purchase this car but the owner declined that’s more BS as I would have gladly have sold that car back too Mr McQueen withe option too purchase it back if mr McQueen ever wanted too resale it read the store about the guy who bought Steve McQueen first Porsche the owner sold it back too Steve and after Steve passed away the guy had a deal from mr McQueen that he could repurchase it from his estate......it’s shame what people will do for a $ I guess someone will try pass a 68 charger off next as the built charger smh✌️👎🏾

If somebody needs to explain to you how to move a radio antenna from the back of a car to the front there really is no hope for you. Get this, the right hand side of the car was beat up in the chase and now it’s not!! Crazy. Definitely something up there. 😂

Your point makes no sense.If it were the actual car then why would they go to the trouble of moving the Antenna? How does it supposedly have the original paint but all the damage has disappeared? This isn't the one in the chase.Its probably a back up vehicle they used.

Ah hem....OK movies for dummies...they had more than just 1 mustang in that film..one for all the body damage..one for the close up footage...BOTH cars are genuine..the one that beat up was found in a breakers in baja california...the " hero " car was owned by the same family for decades..never been restored..was stored for years and was finally sold at auction for over 3 million ...so, its not a fkn fake
