I gotta say...I'm in my 30's and I have always felt detached from most music. Never had a favorite genre. but I was always drawn to the mellow ambiance of deep soothing bass and instrumental type music. I came across chill/trip,etc type music through my hunt of mellow ambiance music and I have not been disappointed !! Such an amazing creature we humans are. To be able to compose such moving music through electronics. I am also just as impressed with how well everyone is getting along in the chat :) most youtube chat is full of vitriol and hate. But every time I read through the chats to this genre I see absolute pleasantry, and complete content, as well as people with hurt, and pain in the search for comfort. looking for a release . Which form comes in the sound of these vibes. This music heals the souls!! Be happy and safe everyone. The world is tough, but so are we!!

My grandma passed away last Saturday, but thank God I had the opportunity to stay with her on her last hours of life. I put this mix on and keep talking how beautiful the heaven she was going is, she was going to walk on the streets made of gold, and how much we love her, then I went to sleep and when I woke up she was gone. Guys, tell the people around you how much you love them and how important they're to you while you still can, you may not have the opportunity to say it later. Thank you for this beautiful mix, it was the last song she heard and it will always remember me that precious moment that I had.

I did the same for my mother. I also picked a lime from our tree and scratched it hard. We both drew its scent deep into our nose and looked into each other eyes while this play for us. She passes 6 years ago from cancer, but even to today I still have the lime from our tree. And it still has scent. And I can play this mix, scratch the lime once again, and with its smell I can go back to that day and look into my mother's eyes one again. It is a gift like none other.

I visit here religiously since this was uploaded. this stuff got me through something, from memories made with my exchange buddy studying in a different country, to countless solo travels on literally the other side of the world, on the road with all the flights and layovers being tired, from getting through an university, writing a thesis to studying for a job, from getting over a heart wrenching break up to just working excruciating late night overtimes. I can't help but smile at it all. Thank you and all the artists for it. its like spending a week in some mountain welness with saunas and spa far away from troubles of your mind. it makes you content with life and what comes after it. truly a soul soothing genre.

I just wanted to come back and seriously thank the creator of the mix. I found this years ago back when I was still in middle school, still curious about the genre. Since then I've graduated from highschool. During that duration chillstep has opened my eyes to not only life but myself. I feel as if I am more in tuned with my emotions but as well as the people around me. As I listen to more melodies and the unique softness of chillstep I feel as if it makes me more sensitive to my own thoughts. Any thoughts I've hidden deep within seems to find it's path through the melody. Opening my eyes to the growth of not only my character but my loved ones as well. This genre has done nothing but shape me into the man that I am becoming. And I can't wait to see where this all takes us as we find ourselves lost yet guided in the melodies of chillstep.Thank you Artic Empire! 😌✌🏿

I used to listen to this selection sitting in my tiny bedroom before going to University, grinding my Mathematics exercises, learning Japanese kanji (rote learning!), and looking forward to the future. 6 years later and my entire life has changed. I've graduated from University twice, I have loved hard, lost hard, nearly died once, been in fights, learned to party, been drunk, been depressed, got a good job, got made redundant, got a better job, worked when everything seemed hopeless and succeeded beyond what I even thought possible, losing a few things but gaining more. Hearing this pulls me straight back to those innocent days where I didn't know what life could be like outside of my sheltered bubble. I'm 25 now, but part of me is still that 18-year-old lad, who listens to Chillstep whilst studying and who only cares about the gym, video games, and studying.

Hey! 27 years old now! I'm back at University for the third time now on the programme I always dreamed of, part-time whilst I still continue my job. That young lad who I was at 18 is receding further into my memories as time goes by and nostalgia is steadily glossing over the struggles and uncertainties of my youth. I've gained many things since my last comment - knowledge, respect, salary, position, weight(xD), and most importantly, the love of my life. I married my true love, partner, and equal in every way in September this year, and that is something I could never have planned for at 25. My growth has come at the cost of some very old relationships which have not survived my growth out of poverty and into a middle-class position. There are long ways left for me to go and many things left I wish to achieve, but I am finally able to say, and believe when I say, that I know who I am when I look in the mirror.

I drop that all at night and turn this on and I stare at the ceiling in the dark. All I can think about then is how I want my life to be, and how I want to live it. The things I'll do and the places I'll go. All of that while listening to this? That makes everything better in my book. So thank you for throwing this together, it's been helping me out lately. I'll be sure to come to this whenever I feel the need to let myself go at night. Thank you. :,)

I know this probably wont affect you in the least but hopefully you will remember it. I once had a bunch of friends and best friends and would hang out with them all the time , suddenly they were all going to a different school being only 12 this was heart breaking for me as i had to change schools a lot in the past and had lost a ton of close friends. But then i met some amazing people i clicked with them and now have great times and i wouldn't trade them for my old friends. The motto of this is friends come and go but there is always somebody out there waiting to click with you.

Just keep your chin up and keep trucking brother. I come from a fairly dark childhood myself, of course though.. I can't say much because I know others have and have had it much worse. Just give yourself some time to yourself, for yourself. Know what I mean? Take some time to kick back and really get to know yourself, because then you'll find your real self worth. Don't think you're only worth as much as your parents treat you, because I can honestly tell you you're worth more than words could express. What I'm about to say is easier said than done, trust me I know. But push out the negativity, let it slide off your shoulders. Find music that speaks to you, or anything else you like.. And focus on your future, listen to your heart, understand your skills & gifts.. Look for ways you can apply them in order to climb the latter into a better situation. I did it, it took time, but I did it. I went from being stuck living with an emotionally/verbally/mentally and occasional physically abusive mother at 20 years old(and much worse other stuff all throughout my childhood).. To now living in my own nice little apartment with an amazing girlfriend at 21. I'm not seeking praise, I only want you to understand that if I can do it, you can too. There's so much negativity in the world and I just want to spread the love. I specifically sympathize with you because I've been there, and I know how dark of a place it can be at times. One of the most important things I can tell you, is to continue to love yourself even when it seems others don't. You can do it man, I hope you find ways to make your situation much better.. And live out a life of peace and love.

Nearly 7 years later, currently having an emotional trip to the past of all the nights I stayed up as a kid figuring out what life was. The best way I can describe nostalgia for myself is the times as a kid when you’re alone and we start to think, advance our consciousness of reality and it’s not all fun and games the whole ride. The younger we think deep, the younger we grow up, the younger we mature. Never did I think that I’d lose my dad to cancer at 19 after separation from family from a young age, I’ve been practically physically and mentally independent my whole life ever since people stopped holding my hand. Many demons surrounded me, and many still do. Almost like the negative feeling of nothingness deep inside, but a spark of something. Could make sense, might not. But now it’s up to me to carry the last name of my father. My mental state, the thoughts I have, I need to figure out where my place is in life. Wanting a family of my own, I want nothing more than to be there for my future wife and kids at all times. I want to raise them to be respectful, responsible, and independent people. I am my best councilor, but I’m not my best warrior, demons still live with me. This mix means differently to many people, it has helped cope for me personally.

There once was a little bird, it flew around the largest tree in town. It rarely flew away from the tree. When it did, it flapped its wing and sat next to another bird with blue feathers. All it did was stare at it, and the other bird would stare back. They remained there for hours, then hours turned into days. The bird then flew back to the large tree. It kept singing and flying around the tree. The happiness carried over every other creature around the tree. It eventually built a nest, settled down and dwelled in the sensation we call joy. Today, the bird flew away once more. It went by the clock tower in town. That's where it met the blue feathered bird, but today, it wasn't there. The bird's small head bobbed in confusion, then it remembered the garden. They met there once... It flew as fast as it could. There it was, the blue feathered bird. They sat together, sang and stared into each other's eyes again. That's where they met now. One day, an old man started coming to the garden. He would always toss some bread over the ground for the pigeons. He just stayed there the whole morning, staring at the birds and smiling. Weeks passed. The old man somehow became part of the garden. Pigeons started coming in numbers and waiting for him to feed them. Something that never changed was that he never smiled. Even the two birds noticed him. The blue feathered one stared in confusion while the other one kept trying to understand. The old man intrigued it. But in the end, they had each other, they just forgot about him and got back into singing together. The old man noticed the two birds, he looked up at them. They were set on a branch, a sun shaft decorating their vibrant plumes. They looked at each other and listened to each other's singing. The old man smiled, the birds noticed. A tear came down from his left eye. He held his face, and more tears came flooding. He tried to wipe his eyes but they just kept coming. The two birds glared at the man's sadness, but as they couldn't understand why he was brought to tears, they flapped their wings and decided to go next to him. The old man looked at them, flying together, singing together and looking out for each other. He smiled. " I once had that, you know?" He said to the birds, but all they could do was stare back. " Liz and I used to come to this garden everyday, sit on a bench -it didn't matter which one- and we just stared into each other's eyes." The old man looked up at the sky, and his face basked in sunlight. " She had the most beautiful eyes in the world. If you looked too long, you could get lost in them, you know? They were so big, heartwarming, and I never got bored of them. They always shined when I was there. Sometimes I imagined I was looking at two planets in the galaxy, other times I imagined I was looking at two galaxies. Then those galaxies expanded into different realities, and it went even beyond that. It didn't stop racing inside my heart, it just kept going and going, it was an adventure that didn't have any limits or boundaries. I jumped into her eyes whenever I could, it was the only thing that kept me breathing for all these years. " The blue feathered bird came closer to him, the other one followed. " Even little beings like you, know what I am talking about." The old man laughed. " How was the universe created? Is there a god? If so how did he create this universe, and how did he make us? I think those questions are easier to answer than this one: how much did I love her? A lot, to begin with. More than all the stars in the night sky. More than all the life I have in my body. She was the only thing I craved, the only thing I worshiped and the only thing I loved. She made me a better person, better at what I do, better with others and... she made me happy." The old man turned his head to face the birds. " Then one day... let's just say she couldn't come to the garden anymore. Not on her own. It was okay, all I wanted was to see her smile one more time. A few days later, she couldn't come at all. Then what they said would happen did happen after all. " Tears started falling down his cheeks again, but the old man didn't even try to wipe them. " I saw all the universes and stars inside her eyes vanishing, fading, going dark. It was like someone turned the lights off inside. I saw her stare back at me, smiling. The second after that one, she was still looking at me but she wasn't seeing anything. There was nothing to see, no one to use those eyes. They were still beautiful, but she was no longer there. There I was, screaming and crying and asking her to look at me." The man closed his eyes. "The flower of my life had just left my garden, and I was the kind to only have room for one flower and it had to be her but she was forever gone. It didn't matter how loud my screams were or how hard my hits were against the wall. She was... dead." The old man lifted his head and looked at the birds again, smiling at them with an honest face. "Make sure you make every second of her life worth it, make sure you make every moment unforgettable, every breath warm and every kiss binding cause there is nothing in this universe that could equal this feeling that we call love."

I am most definitely looking forward to writing back when I begin my senior year. Cheers!

This music makes you strangely quiet, makes you live your own world, making you feel that everything is fading no matter what

I'm going to be 70 in a few days-and when I listen to this mix it never fails to make me calm, pensive and appreciative and I think how I should listen to this mix far more often.

Perfect for thinking about the big questions in life, also helps to feel closer to understanding infinity and what's beyond our human perception of the universe while staring into the evening sky. Thanks for uploading.

Been listening to this mix for 6 years now and I’m still going to keep listening to it because it never gets old. The best type of music to vibe to and daydream to. I think it’s official this is the best chillstep mix I have ever heard.

Mix got me through late nights studying in college, would even play this in a room during a party with some lights if people needed to just chill out - always got so many comments on the mix and the comfort it brings.

This remind me of when me and my friend climp on top of a snowy mountain in the middle of the night drunk, and sat on an edge with a view of the whole valley and a snowy town with a thousand flickering lights, and the stars clearer than ever ...

July 31, 2019 - I'm back for more, my digital oasis, my virtual sanctuary, loving every track and chillin like a villain while looking out my window enjoying the beautiful forest in my backyard and writing encouragement letters to leaders all over the world. Cheers, AE!

I've been struggling to stay focused enough to do my coursework for university, but right off the bat, I'm significantly doing better. Thank you for this awesome mix! It's motivating me to complete this bs and get back to snuggling with my lil ones.

I am so happy that this is back. When it suddenly got taken down, I cried a little. Not even kidding. It is my all-time favourite chillstep mix on KZbin, hands down. It has helped wind me down many times, and a few of the tracks in it have produced some of my best synaesthesi-art.

I've listened to many chillstep collections but something about this one is like home to me. To anyone still coming back to listen, whether its for work, relaxation, or whatever, you're a legend.
