I feel like this could do with a part two, because believe it or not, there are consoles that failed even harder than the ones featured here! The subject of obscure and failed consoles is a fascinating subject, and it's almost like an iceberg where the ones you hear about the most are only scratching the surface. If I could suggest a few to look into, there's the Pioneer LaserActive (a console for playing Laserdisc games at home that cost over $1k when it released), the Casio Loopy (a Japanese console aimed at young girls that could print stickers), the Commodore consoles like the CD32 and 64GS, and the NEC PCFX (the failed 32b bit successor to the PC Engine/Turbografx 16).

The 3DO was an amazing machine. It just didn't have enough games. I recall it having a decent Warcraft 2 port.
