Schecter builds baddass guitars for the price. I have the KM-7 and Banshee 6 Passive, both are loaded with Seymour Duncan Nazgul and Sentient pickups, and they're both sick. Plus they're coming out of World Musical Instruments in Korea, the same place kicking out Chapman and PRS SE guitars. Top notch build quality.

Even with the VX which was designed to handle extended range gutars, that 8 string still sounded so flubby. Respect to those who can make it work!
@caseysliger62208 жыл бұрын
I have the 7 string version and can attest that its a killer guitar. Really great stability and tone. For me, the 26.5" scale length is the sweet spot for a 7 string to be able to do drop tunings and not get floppy. Only thing I'd caution anybody against on it is that the neck is incredibly flat, so it may take a bit to get used to if that's not what you normally play.

Great video! You two are an awesome pair. You really show off the versatility of the guitars with your varying play styles. And you are funny AF.

You know you're watching an awesome guitar player when they can pick up a 7-String, having never played one before, and just start throwing together some cool sounding riffs. I'm not an extended range player myself, or even a metal player for that matter, but Pete still made that sound pretty cool. Rabea, I know he doesn't play 8-String but I didn't expect anything less from his playing; could watch/listen to him play all day.
@Martyr99918 жыл бұрын
That opening jam was awesome.
@MarcAndreLevesque8 жыл бұрын
For someone who hasn't really played an 8 string that's not half bad. You just need to transpose those scales and you're almost good to go. Of course like you said, most people just chug chug on these. :) It's loads of fun no matter how you play it.

I dont understand why people arent open to using eight strings? i mean im the type of person to say "why not?" when someone says "why?" id absolutely love to be able to use one. i dont have the budget at the moment but im saving up for one. Id just like to know why people happen to be so afraid of using them? And the majority of eight string players dont even focus on djent. i hate it when people say that.

For a 26.5" scale (extended range) 6-string guitar, what string gauges would you recommend for playing E-standard?
@colethompson51358 жыл бұрын
for a baritone you wouldn't really play in standard tuning, baritone standard is B to b
@Agar4Life8 жыл бұрын
+Cole Thompson Yeah, i know about baritone, that's why i asked the question: If i wanted to wing it and play E-standard on extended scale, what would be the best strings for that? But good on you for being Mr. Smart guy and answering the question no-one asked.
@colethompson51358 жыл бұрын
+Agar4Life well I was just trying to say a 26.5" scale is a baritone. however if you wanted to do it you'd probably want something like 12-63s
@Agar4Life8 жыл бұрын
+Cole Thompson Thanks! Running 12s up to E sounds pretty heavy on the ol' neck. But to be expected.
