This was one of the best tasting videos yet! I'm envious, especially with all those huckleberry candies! Some miscellaneous facts: About a third of the potatoes in the U.S. are grown in Idaho. The state's license plates have the slogan "Famous Potatoes" printed on them. I'm sure the Idaho Spud Candy Company was inspired by this. Concord grapes are a variety native to the U.S. They're mostly used for jelly and juice. The juice has a dark purple color and a distinctive flavor. There is Concord grape wine, but it's generally pretty low quality. Concord grapes are called "slip-skins" because if you squeeze one between your fingers the inside part will slide out, leaving the skin behind. The name "Old Faithful" is a reference to the famous geyser in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. There's even a picture of it on the wrapper. They geyser gets its name because it erupts so regularly (about once an hour, day after day, month after month, year after year). It's "horehound," not "horsehound." The flavor comes from an herb of the same name. And yes, I also think it tastes nasty.

I just watched a documentary on Hershey chocolate. It was created using milk in place of powder milk, he wanted European chocolate to be affordable to everyone in the states. They had to add something so the water in milk and fat in butter would mix, it soured the milk a little and they keep the taste as the states have gotten use to it and like it. I never taste bitter in it. And like the semi-sweet dark chocolate too.

My favorite way to eat the spicy jams is to pour it over some cream cheese. Then take a knife and put some (of both) on a water cracker. The cream cheese will cut a little if the heat and makes it a bit more palatable for me. This is popular to have at parties too.

The "cupcake toppers" are Melt Aways. They come in that small size and a large size(kind of Hershey Kiss size) as well - at least here in Western NY they do. They are a favorite for gingerbread houses as well as being put out at holidays- especially Easter. A lot of times you can find them in other colors besides the pastels as well.

I used to live in NW Montana near Glacier National Park and am so glad you were sent some huckleberry jam & syrup. Huckleberry is my absolute favorite flavor, unfortunately it's really hard to get here in Iowa. Part of the reason huckleberry costs so much is how difficult it is to harvest. Since it only grows at higher elevations and can't be domesticated it's a real pain to pick. Also huckleberries are a favorite of bears, so there is an added element of possible danger when picking. But in my opinion it's the best in jam & syrups, is also amazing as pie filling and cheesecake topping. Huckleberry ice cream, shakes, & tea is also awesome. My favorite gift shop near Glacier Park is in Hungry Horse called The Huckleberry Patch. Amazing huckleberry products. Loved this episode.

The hot jams are insanely good on ham as a glaze, or mixed with cream cheese to make an amazing dip. The big hunk is my favorite its been popular since the early 60's. Black cows even longer. Chicken bones have been around since the 30's. Horehound is an herb. Those have been around since the early 1800's now a days it's used mostly as an herbal remedy. Amazing cough drops. Sunchips are the best cheddar is my second favorite. They make a sun dried tomato, basil, and parmesan. They also make an onion that is fantastic. The meltaway mints are larger nonparallels. The minis taste exactly the same, but they are great for decorating cupcakes, and putting in fudge cookies or brownies. Yummy. You are right. Snyder's honey mustard, onion are the best.
