They are slaves so...
@aecides32033 күн бұрын
@@SirToaster9330 It's actually really, tragically, common for slaves to do everything in the power of mental gymnastics to convince themselves that their masters are good, benevolent people who look after them and only punish them because it's required to correct them. Equally, people with extreme power over others commonly dehumanise them and even come to feel resentment and outright hatred to the people they've subjugated for being so 'weak' and 'pathetic'. Unfair power dynamics do weird things to the human mind in both directions, with both effects making the problem worse and easier to perpetuate. Beyond that, Unsullied are explicitly explained as being put through intense physical and psychological stress from a very young age to break them into unquestioning obedience - the conflict most Unsullied felt probably wasn't initially about if they wanted payback, it was about whether they should be prioritising the wishes of their new owner or the ones who trained them. Don't forget the Unsullied reassemble into formation and follow Dany out of the city BEFORE she frees them - they were perfectly prepared to continue operating under the owner/property dynamic after carrying out her orders, most likely because a different option never even occurred to them before she offered it. Their revolution begins with the spear tapping, up until that point they're technically still following orders from their new owner, even if those orders are to lead a revolution for freedom.

@@urthboundmisfit I meant during their initial encounter, rather than this particular scene. At this point, Jorah may have been informed about the charade, or perhaps not - it wouldn't matter because Dany told him and Barristan to never question her in front of others again. But prior to that, when they first met the slaver, he insulted Dany plenty, and Jorah didn't speak up at that point. I think Jorah's action in this scene speaks more to him recognising the situation from Dany's tone, rather than understanding the words, and his feelings towards her, where contrasted to Barristan, who is more restrained.

This scene is by far the most epic thing ever shot on television ever in history. Everything about it is so incredible the moment when she starts speaking valyrian and his and everyone elses surprise reactions are completely priceless. Amazing acting, so well done well written and perfectly shot kudos to the, Director of photography and cinematography on this as well especially the script supervisors. I’m still watching 2024!

This is really just flawless television. Not even just this scene, but all of season 3 is just this effortlessly dialed in force of nature. My wife and I are rewatching the series now for the first time (I’m also a book reader), and it’s just so apparent why this became an international phenomenon. Tension builds throughout every scene and interaction, the plot is always moving toward, and the characters are amazing. Then, every so often you get scenes like THIS that just makes the hairs on your arm stand up in recognition of how goddamn perfect what you’re watching is. George is a genius, and everyone involved in early Thrones deserves the highest of praise for a faithful and flawlessly executed adaption.

The early seasons were so damn good. The attention to detail was insane. The way the dragons cries shift from neutral to desperate when he sees his mother walking away from him. We have no idea what a dragon would sound like but the way we intuitively know it’s panicked by hearing it
