I'm a long-time viewer/listener just throwing my thoughts into the pile of similar comments here. You've been my main role model in life since I was 14 (back when BO2 was the newest CoD game), especially with your philisophical commentaries, and your epic dreams were so very captivating. For the last ten years, I've watched you and your videos evolve through life and adapt to new games and life situations. It always amazed me how intense, long, detailed, vibrant, and poetically horrifying your dreams were. I'm someone who has never had a lucid dream and can barely remember even five seconds of one dream a night, if I'm lucky. I'd be lying if I said I never was at least a little jealous of your ability to dream and remember it so well. Knowing now what the cause of this (dis)ability was, I'd never wish it on another human being or myself. You are truly the stongest, most well-traveled soul I've heard of, and as a person who has been so influential on the way I understand the world, it brings me great joy and satisfaction to hear that you have very likely gotten such poetic closure to your nights of torture. I wish you a long life and sweet dreams, Drift0r!

Being only a casual viewer of your channel, I never knew about your other dream videos, but wow, what a captivating storyteller you are. I only just now noticed that the video was 32 minutes long, after finishing it and starting to write this comment. "Mr. Shadow" seemingly orchestrating your horrific nightmares, then begging you to not get treatment really does make it seem like your dreams were being invaded by something sentient/supernatural. Kinda like the entity from the Smile movies. How terrifying, yet fascinating, that mindless diseases can have such influence on our psyche, despite having no intelligence of their own. Like inducing nightmares in your case, or like rabies causing hydrophobia. Or how some fungi can mind-control insects. You have some true fortitude to be able to withstand all these years of your disease assaulting your body - physically and mentally, in your waking hours and in your dreams. I don't know if I could bear something like that myself as long as you. I hope your health continues to improve, and that Mr. Shadow stays dead.

I don’t know if you remember this, but 12ish years ago, back when KZbin had DMs that anybody could slide into, I asked you if I could write a short story about you, inspired directly by your dream series. I remember being very surprised when you responded and said yes. I ended up writing a short story a few pages long, and maybe I sent it to you? But I can’t remember. In hindsight, my writing back then was awful, cringy edgelord stuff made by a high school freshman, but it also pushed me to keep writing creatively. I had been thinking about quitting, but your dream series kept me going, and I still write sometimes as a hobby. Never published anything, and idk if I will, but I still get the joy I want out of writing, and I still sometimes think about the creative reboot your dream series gave me.

I was literally thinking about this series yesterday after a crazy dream. I’ve always had very vivid dreams like you, where I can control myself but nothing else. Thankfully mine are never really scary like yours were, even ones where I die are more thrilling than anything. I’m glad yours are more like mine now! As an aside, and please let me stress that I don’t want you to respond or even think about it if you don’t want to, and I’m almost thinking I shouldn’t ask this as I’m typing, as you seem to be in a much better place and I don’t want to throw you off, but maybe you can make more sense of this now - but in the ghost stories all those years ago you mentioned that closet door that shifted and said something to you that was greatly disturbing. I don’t even want to know what it said but I was wondering how you’re feeling about that today. Again, no pressured seriously, and I’m sorry to ask if it is uncomfortable.

Hey, Drift0r. I recall stumbling across your Epic Dream series over a decade ago and getting hooked. I don't mean to minimize your problem (I'm sure I would hate it if I was forced to deal with it), but I've always found both the problem itself and the stories it's produced to be fascinating. I've also seriously wondered if said stories could be turned into books and movies, though I suppose problems could arise from the fact that a lot of them seem to loosely based on real life premises and stories. I stopped gaming seriously back in 2019, but I've kept coming back to your channel because you're an interesting guy in general. Some of your commentaries back in the day on dealing with the consequences of volatile home environments helped me out, and I've enjoyed your political and social commentaries, even if I don't always fully agree. Cheers, Brad. I hope you get some much needed tranquility in the future.

Thank you for this well-delivered and satisfying conclusion to you series! Even if it means a point of no return to this incredible anthology, we are happy you're on a route to recovery - physically, mentally, & spiritually - and possess the integrity to entirely reject Mr. Shadow's influence. I remember laying in the dark for many a night as i would fall asleep listening to your intricate (albeit spine-chilling) experiences and they lent me the will to combat my own demons. Living amonsgt black mold has a terrifying effect on your psyche as well. Happy Halloween, sweet dreams, good night, and don't let the ticks bite! Wow I thought I was crazy but this is so relatable to me. There is some entity that's a constant in my nightmares. I haven't gotten a name or even an idea of what she looks like, but I somehow know it's a "her" I won't comment a wall of text with all the lore of my own saga, but suffice to say, you're not alone.
@JustPokey2 ай бұрын
Mine didn't have as satisfying an ending as yours. Whenever I sensed her presence encroaching on a dream, a sense of absolute terror would seize me and I would begin trying to scream myself awake. But sometime in the last couple years I resolved that next time I sensed her, I would confront her and try not to wake up. Haven't heard from her since. Seems she doesn't want to give me that chance.

I mean if the parasites are in the brain and influence the hosts behavior it sorta makes sense that they 'take over' a part of the brain, and perhaps gain some intelligence or even consciousness as Drift0r said. It sounds crazy but I don't think it's that implausible. There are several brain parasites that influence the hosts behavior in quite complex ways. It's a fascinating topic. For example Toxoplasmosis is a brain parasite affecting 30% of humans alive and it's lifecycle depends on being inside a cat's gut. It's been shown that it makes infected rats lose their fear of cats and even have dopamine released in their brain when they smell cat pee. So perhaps 30% of people have a Mr. Cat Lover living inside their psyche which is actually the Toxoplasmosis parasite. Sounds a lot more pleasant than Mr. Shadow for sure.
