Typically for brand exclusives like from Chanel, Christian Dior, or Guerlain, I'll almost always pay whatever MSRP is. Also for brands that are seldom found on discounters, like État Libre d'Orange. The reason, I listed typical North American MSRP is because sure most people within the fragcomm have access to and trust online discounters, but not everyone entirely will trust them. And since brands won't officially cosign these discounters, I'm not going to act like it's without a shadow of a doubt, 100% legitimate entirely. So I want to personally list something somewhat concrete and "legitimate", so I went with the most accurate official prices within the USA. Also, as a creator, depending on the brand, I can at times get stuff for cheaper in comparison to the what the public could get it for [even off of discounters]. And I think I'd go into too much depth about how and why that is, so a 19-minute video is long enough for me. Thanks for the kind words as always though, fam. =]

Jubilation is fantastic but I would not call it a frankincense frag as it is more of a supporting cast member. The BEST frankincense dominate fragrance in my collection is the discontinued Tom Ford Sahara Noir. Performance is beast and the scent authentic and masterful. The opening and mid are pure church during the holidays and the dry-down is a gorgeous amber. Get your nose on it if you have nose already have.

Bois d'Argent is actually Silver Wood. "Argent" means money but also silver. Very nice collection/wardrobe btw :) !
@CascadeScents7 жыл бұрын
I know it's literally silver, but I am pretty sure Christian Dior is more or less referring to money colloquially in this instance because of how "rich" they want the smell to come off as. Thanks for the kind words! Salute. =]

Sorry to hear! Short answer: a cool in temperature, dark area is the ideal spot for fragrances; whether it's a closet, on top of a dresser, or even in a wine fridge. For me, it's just a shelving system I've put them on. You can see this setup on my Instagram.

Cascade, comparing: Parfums de Marley Herod vs Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille ? Go with Tom Ford ?
@CascadeScents7 жыл бұрын
If I didn't own Tobacco Vanille already, I'm honestly not sure about which I'd buy between the two. Tobacco Vanille is a tad mature, so maybe I'd go with Herod? I'd honestly have to revisit Herod with Tobacco Vanille simultaneously, side-by-side. Would also have to do an all-day, skin test too. I'll just say that you can't go wrong with either, but I'm gutted that I do not have an answer for you for which I'd go with right now. Thanks for asking though, Mark. =]

@CascadeScents7 жыл бұрын
Gypsy Water or maybe Silver Mountain Water, niche-wise. I think Silver Mountain Water is more versatile, but Gypsy Water isn't unsafe, and I have obvious attachments to that scent. Designer-wise, it's Gucci Pour Homme II, without a shadow of a doubt, but if we are talking a fragrance that isn't remotely discontinued, it's Terre D'Hermès EDT.

It's because I have a lot of scent memories with it, and because it's unique yet safe. However, it's spicy kick I find to be subdued from my skin in recent formulations in contrast to early formulations; so despite longevity being really good still for me, projection is even worse. Just my experience though. :P

I'm afraid to add up how much my collection would cost.. the creed, tom ford, and bond no 9 by itself would be close to 10 grand lol
@GrayHuska7 жыл бұрын
I find it so weird how when I go into a store, designer frags hover around 100$/100ml CAD and have been the same price for the 2 years ive been into the game... When I bought my first Creed it was 350$ and now its near 500$ CAD. I'm confused as to why this house has jumped so drastically while designer frags stay the same..? Its not a big deal cause I use Fragrancenet but I still dont understand tbh...
@CascadeScents7 жыл бұрын
Instead of letting things naturally inflate, designers will often compromise the quality of the juice to keep costs down as time goes on. Niche houses tend to just jack things up. Sucks either way. =[
@GrayHuska7 жыл бұрын

Official LXRY It's not like niche houses don't do that; some of them do. But it's a more prominent practice amongst designers, and that sometimes extends to their primary practices like apparel. You're welcome and thank you as always. =]

Tip: use 1.25 speed Moral of the story: Fragrances = expensive hobby (:cough: addiction :cough: lol) ---- Hi Manny :) what is your opinion about Terre d'hermès Pure Parfum?
@CascadeScents7 жыл бұрын
1.25 speed for my audio? These were honestly just stills for the most part, and I tried to get through 60-ish fragrances cleanly in the time it would take other creators for collections of half the size. I am usually really weary of time like I am in my other videos, but I went for something more organic here [I think]. Did it not work in your opinion? I am really interested/wondering. And I'd have to revisit that version of Terre D'Hermès to be honest; it's been a minute! But I love the EDT still which is why I still own and reach for it lots. Thank you for commenting! =]
@carlosroberto3667 жыл бұрын
you did a good job Manny, you were very concise as usual, I suggested the 1.25 speed (youtube option) for the viewers that want to speed things up a little bit without comprimising the audio. As per Hermès, I have recently gotten decants from both versions and my initial perception is that the pure parfum is more elegant and sober, it does not have that bitter orange but rather a sweeter orange and after minutes it goes directly to the base where you get a refined wood smell, it does not project as strong as the EDT but it is consistent for hours. I still need to test both again but in the high heat it won't work, so far I am very inclided to have both.

SOLID Fair play. Good to know about the Parfum version then. Definitely have to try it out now. Sounds like a worthy wear! Thanks again. =]

While that's true, it's about telling people what stuff is actually worth rather than what I got it for. Most people in the world do not have access to discount retailers online, so in case that's the circumstance for someone, I'd rather display something official to at least my area [which is likelier more accurate for most people worldwide].

u paid retail
@CascadeScents7 жыл бұрын
Lavy Khurana I definitely didn't pay retail for all of these. However, I listed the actual retail prices as of the video's release. Just because I didn't always pay retail, doesn't mean they aren't worth that price.
@lavykhurana7 жыл бұрын
Well sure they are worth the money but i just asked u paid retail anyway
@CascadeScents7 жыл бұрын
Fair play, no problem, brother. I just thought it would be more appropriate to list retail prices as I always do, in case there are skeptics out there for some of the discount websites available on the net. Also, there are options here that you can never buy discounted, so I thought that it would be crass to list some options as discounted and some as retail; like, let's just list retail for everything, haha. :P
