I don't know if I think Fortnite is objectively bad game. It just feels like a hollow corporate shell of what it used to be. It's lost all of its character and authenticity. Part of that is just a game growing in popularity, but part of it is 100% on the developers and creative director

I think the game was great up to and including Chapter 3. They did do Chapter 3 dirty though. Afterwards they focused too much on realism and graphics and the new maps stutter like crazy on many people's PCs. Season OG and Reload are still pretty good though. They should add already an option to pick between the maps from chapter 1, 2 and 3. And maybe rotate between the seasons monthly for each map. Or just pick the best season from each chapter. If they did that everyone would be happy. Any other game lets you pick what map you want to play on, but Fortnite doesn't.

YES! Ever since epic removed trading in rocket league about 9 months ago and donald mustard stepped down, epic has been just putting in almost no effort. This topic has not been brought to light enough and not many peope actually know what is going on because they are blinded by all the positive information about the new seasons mainly due to the younger players believing everything the big streamers and content creators are saying. Epic games used to actually care when mustard was still there but after he left things have gone to shit.

Nobody was saying that except I Talk Fortnite. People rank the Chapter 2 Season 4 Battlepass as one of the best. Me and others remember that when that Battlepass dropped it made everything in the shop look like garbage. Like seriously, we had S tier characters in the pass like Wolverine, Thor, Iron Man, and Doctor Doom in the pass. And objectively those skins weren’t even lazy, they went above and beyond to make them, the built in gliders were unique and the first time we saw them, it was the first time we saw the Thor pickaxe and Iron Man pickaxe animation, it was the first time we got skins with a built in emote that made each skin unique. It was the first time we saw transformation skins. Objectively not lazy skins, like you compare Iron Man to Shuri and people will choose Iron Man easily, if not than we wouldn’t have so many people begging for it to come back.

Your 100% right though I noticed awhile ago that whenever fortnite would start losing players they'd need to do this huge Collab and add a few weapons just to keep people interested. Also, you really shouldn't base criticism on leaks; people fake stuff all the time and/or are just wrong entirely about it. In general, game development takes a LOT of time, and you can't expect every concept art to be as good as the end product; while some things may actually be planned to be better, making them good, not laggy, not buggy, and actually work as intended in *every platform* is a whole different deal that may just not be possible without a lot of time, which they really don't have. I couldn't have said it better myself, I played a small bit of C1 but mainly started at the very beginning of C2, and even back in C2 the game felt so full of life, epic actually cared about their game and their players and it had personality, but they've borderline taken live events from us, given us this over simplified shitty buggy ass UI no one likes nor asked for, as well as removed rarities for cosmetics, a staple of the entire game, and now worries a lot less about the fun stuff and tries to cater more to the competitive demographic which will always ruin any game, like how they've began to do ever since mid C3, but my biggest issue is that they just don't care about the storyline anymore, the biggest thing that I cared about and that immersed me in the game was the story and how engaging it was with small map changes every week and something new always around the corner, but it's like now the only story we get is through shitty quest no one cares about and you usually can't even read the stuff without being shot at, or we get it through the horrible creative live events once in a blue moon, which is ridiculous by so many means

On another note, the fact that this BP only has 2 original skins is criminal, they need to limit them to ONE licensed skin per pass imo. Edit: I think I disagree with your point of them recreating the OG areas for Reload smaller. In a game mode with 36 players, having them all their original sizes would make the game take forever, and if you increased the player count I personally feel it would become far too chaotic, and end up being more akin to the 50 v 50 mode that has respawns (forgot the name lol). You mentioned spawn protection in Reload. I was just talking about that today with someone and how bad it will be in solo Reload without it. Since kids are so hopped up on sweating and griefing people you KNOW when they get a kill in solo Reload they will just wait for the player to respawn and laser them out of the sky. The concept of spawn protection has existed in video games for decades and I think it will be a necessity in solo Reload if not already in duos and squads.

The easiest way to spot epic laziness is by looking by the amount of skins they put each update. Doom island update got a total of 7 skins where 5 OF THEM WERE RESKINS OF THE ALREADY EXISTING ONES. One of very few reasons that brought me to this game in the first place, was their originality, sure collabs are cool if you enjoy certain media (rip FNAF) but overall I'm most hyped for their original ideas, and hell they got a lot of them in the past like the seventh, IO, TLR, vox clan, shadow vs ghost etc.. Now I feel like the only thing that matters for them is a good amount of money from countless collabs (and that kinda true when you look at the Metallica update where the only skins included within it were Metallica band, and Nick eh 30, zero originality) It hurts, bc for some reason they still gaslight ppl via surveys into thinking they still care about original content. The truth is most of the survey skins, dedicated to Myths and Mortals, and Wrecked, will never be used, unless some miracle strikes and someone decides to use them. And again it hurts bc I really wanted to play as a minotaur, or this weird golden masked weirdo, and I probably won't, cuz it's more beneficial to push another Peely rip off into the shop, and count the money as the sales keep growing... You have to keep in mind that Epic Games rushes their employees. A battle pass will release whether or not said employees have good ideas for the pass. In Battle Royale's earlier days it was kinda just a smaller budget side mode to STW. Most of the assets were just reused STW assets. The devs were able to work more creatively but with a smaller budget. Well now since the game since the game has a crossover skin in every Battle Pass that means that a new season has to happen by a deadline in order to meet contractual obligations with the crossover characters. Another thing to keep in mind is that they split up the battle royale team to work on stuff like rocket racing and festival.

One thing I’ve seen nobody talk about is Battle lab/Creative royale, the only two ways you can freely explore the map without getting shot from every direction. First of all, WHY? WHY DID THEY REMOVE THEM? I did hear they removed creative Royale because they didn’t feel like updating the map for it…? And battle lab got removed for no reason i think. Without those modes, Fortnite isn’t Fortnite anymore, and i don’t feel comfortable playing a match without being used to the map at all.
