I was never a comic person but I started collecting Groo when they first came out...I was in a record/comic store and got friendly with the owner...I asked him one day what comic would make me laugh and he said Groo the wanderer and gave me one to read...well the rest is history...thanks for the uploads...keep up the good work!!!

That’s a great story! I wish I had one like it. 😉 I was a kid trying to get into comics when Spider-Man, Batman and X-Men were big. But superhero comics didn’t do it for me. When I saw Groo (one of the first Epic comics) it looked more like something I’d like. And it sure was. 😀

@@GrooTubeI was in my early 20's(showing my age there...lol).. To add to the story it was the 2nd addition....I read it right away in the store and both of us was cracking up...I wanted more I couldn't get enough!!!...The next month I got the 3rd addition plus the owner got me the 1st too ...I believe I have around 50 of them but I'm planning to get the rest up to date....in fact if my memory is correct I have a few different #1's plus a comic where he had a short story in a different comic...I forget what the comic is called...I have to dig them all out....oh the reason why I stopped buying the was due to me going back to England and there wasn't no internet back then but now I live in the US and there's internet now it shouldn't be a problem catching up and that's how I came across your channel....and as you probably know Sergio and mark have their own channel now.....one other thing I forgot I was so much into Groo and being a painter myself....I painted I life size pic of him on my bedroom wall🙂

@@GrooTube I wish I did have them still...remember in those days we didn't have digital cameras to backup to the cloud and I have lost them with many others over the years....I'm from the UK and lived in many countries over the years back then....it's a shame because my painting of Groo was bang on....even with the small bag and skull 🙂💀

Isn't this the very first time Groo sails with a ship and it doesn't sink? Later we learn that it is the precence of Rufferto that makes it not sink and this is the first issue Groo sails with Rufferto I believe. This was the first Groo copy I bought in stores. Been hooked since.

When my boys became old enough to enjoy Groo, my collection was “lost.” I was able to buy Epic 1-50 for cheap and they enjoyed them a lot. Then, my childhood collection was found and there was much rejoicing!
