Great job! I love that feeling. My most memorable jackpot (I'm a low baller) was on quick hit. My dad was down and my sister was down I only took $40 to play because my rent was due the following day. The slot machine spoke to me. I had my Dad put in $20 and my sister put in $5 while I went to the ATM and said screw it , I took out another $60. 2 spins in I got the quick hit jackpot that was a few dollars under a handpay. I just won 17,268 last night. The big one on top, where the symbols have to line up a specific way in order to win the big one. I had been playing that machine for about 12-15 min. Dollar machine with a 9 dollar max bet. I always do max, unless I'm down to my last bills. I was shocked and so happy. I opted to have the taxes taken out, which is 24% of the total. I was left with 13,124 and some change. I opted for a 10,000 check, and the rest cash. I brought 500 to the casino, and played down 280 before winning. I started out on a different machine, different area, then moved to this popular circle of machines. I've played them in the past, and had good luck. In the past, I've won varying jackpots from 350 to 6000.

@@Simple_Jackass I worked at a casino for a while. The casino has to report any hand pay (jackpot) of $1200 or more to the IRS. So the best thing to do is have them take the 24% tax out at that time so you don't have to pay that tax at the end of the year. ESPECIALLY on something fairly large. Now, $16k isn't huge in the jackpot world, but its enough to say "I don't want to have to pay that tax at the end of the year" and just have it done then. Note that it's ONLY for a single win of $1200 or more since it's a "hand pay". Now, if you have a ticket from progressive winnings, they do not report it to the IRS and you yourself are supposed to report the winnings to the IRS.

I played the same machine for 50 cents a play and turned $20 into $70. Walked away, went to the bar and played video poker for an hour and spent $1, while drinking a free beer. Good times. I do wish the table games were more active as they once were. I guess all the flashes and blinking lights are more compelling.

You dont always win a big jackpot. Its not easy and it can take a long time before you get it, thats part of gambling. You have to ask yourself how much money did you play in the casino before you actually got a jackpot, in the end the house typically wins. Over the years of being at slot machines, Ive really only won anything like that 4 times, it happens every 2 years or so when you go about 15 times a year to a casino to blow $200 (I stick to quarter machines). Ive had a few hand payouts and a few times Ive hit it big enough to have a winning style reaction. Id say his reaction is somewhat similar to what my reaction would be. A lot of times, it just sneaks up out you when you dont expect it (you can tell he wasnt expecting it). Ive never won $16,000, but I dont bet $20 a spin either.

I hit the $100 wheel of fortune machine twice only putting one hundred dollar bill in it, the first time was about 7 yrs ago and put one hundred in it and got the spin and got $10,000 . I about shit myself after that. Fast forward to last April and I was walking by the same machine and I said what the hell I’ll give it a shot, I put one hundred in and got the spin again and landed on $8000! I couldn’t believe it. Plus I had just hit $7200 on a double top dollar high limit 2 days before that! It was a crazy time. Haven’t hit shit this year. My casino has new owners and everyone is bitching how tight it is now. I believe when it's your time, it's your time. I'm grateful I've been blessed many times, I live in a homeless shelter, I've been sober for 8months now, I've hit 4 jackpots in 3 months. The first one with change I cashed in went to the casino because I swear God said go. So I did and won $1500, then just kept being sober praying everyday, and thanking God, then 3 more after that.
