17:46 Yeah Lurkers have a ranged attack, but since the spines damage everything in a line, Lurkers are still fantastic to put under Dark Swarms, because the Dark Swarm does not mitigate splash/area damage. Siege tank shots also damage units under Dark Swarm - I think just the target unit is immune, while all the units alongside take the splash.

The power of Zerg showed once again in BW. 30+ drones killed, 3 mining hatches killed, 25+ overlords killed, & 3/4 of the army wiped out several times, & some how the Zerg is able to stay in the game & win with unlimited dark swarm/plague. Other races lose 1 base & half the army once & it’s over lol

I'm glad your casting and giving us a little extra BW. I think you could do a little more chat about the strategic position between events. What's the current strategic position. Who is the pressure on? What's the base count? You might know about the comps but maybe make a guess about perks. Zealot Archon is pretty mobile and zealots hurt but they arent goign to break those sim cities. Just a little too much filler.

Absolutely deserves the EPIC tag. Jaedong had his back against the wall - with supply blocking and losing a couple of Hatches - GooJila keep expanding, as someone mention following a conservative strategy. Still Goojila working his was to max out, and having a well balanced army. AWESOME stuff!

Zerg units are mostly faster than Protoss ones, while Zerg buildings on the other hand, are dependent on Hatchery's creep. So Zerg players tend to place their expo far away in ZvP matchup, then they still have the mobility to defend it at early stage and secure 4th expansion later. By contrast, in ZvT matchup, if T goes for bio army, which is almost as mobile as Zerg army, Z players tend to expand slowly and get it near the main base to protect it at early game. Later on, when they reach defiler tech + mass lurkers, Z player can defend bases much more easily to get the needed gases for Ultralisk. Then build the death ball and crush the T's bases here and there with that ultimately mobile, high dps, highly armored army. That's the metagame.

KAL just ran out of money man, it wasn't premature. Zerg won when it destroyed Protoss expansion at 11'o clock. At that point protoss was squeezing everything to kill 6'o clock hatchery. It failed therefore they lost.

I've really been enjoying these Brood War casts, it gets me nostalgic for the older game! After watching quite a few of them, I've noticed a lack of mirror matchups (PvP, ZvZ, TvT) Is this because these games are not as common? Or do they tend to not be as good of games for casting? I was just curious what Brood War mirror matches looked like , as I've started to get an understanding of the "usual" compositions that occur in the other match ups.

They are not as popular as the non-mirror matchups. Also TvT boils down to massive tank lines, then wraiths after 30 minutes. Meh.

This one takes the cake... at one point Jaedong was down 61 vs 120 supply. I actually wasn't sure he could recover for a minute there :) He routinely wins after having 2/3 the supply of his opponent, but I don't remember him doing that after having 1/2. Jaedong... doesn't add up :)

Goojila was a fool and a noob for not winning this. He had won as early as having corsairs and being able to perma-supply block Jaedong constantly. The only thing he needed to do at the time to win right there and then was just directly fly his corsairs into Jaedong's main and execute all the overlords, even at the potential cost of losing some of his corsairs. The Overlords were all so nicely clumped together, he would have killed them in a few secs. 9:30 - that's where it all could have ended right then and there. Even still, afterwards he had plenty of opportunities to finish it, being 50+ supply above Jaedong and he wasted them all. Noob.

Carriers have 8 launch range/12 leash range, and BC Yamato shots also outrange them. But unlike capital ships, Guardians can sit there all day and pound away without exposing Interceptors to AA fire or waiting for energy. So yeah, I agree: Guardians are excellent choices, once those Corsairs were cleaned up. For some reason the pro's never use them. Too expensive for DPS output maybe?

Jaedong's gameplay is boring always the same thing, scout with zerlings, make a second and third base then lurkers it's pretty much the same everytime he plays after the first 10 minutes are over that's when it changes a bit but it the exact same routine everytime he is lame I like flash and bisu better they at least change it up every now and then

marine cost 50, hp 40, dmg 6. zealot cost 100, hp should be 40/40, dmg 12. What we have right now is way too OP. Tough time fighting zerg? storm everywhere, reaver/corsair combo, dark archon kills defilers with feedback for just 50 mana.
