It is not the battle hymn in German. It is a song written from guys in Blenckers division. A division lead and near completely formed by Germans. The song is called "Kriegslied der Division Blencker" It is more or less about how the germans march southwards and want to fight the southern tyrans to end slavery because that was something they fought for in Germany 1848 when they demanded democracy and freedom.

If you talk about the historical situation then it would be the XI corps but we self call us The German Volunteers since we compose of 4 companies 2 are CSA and the other USA. Together we form the German Community in this game. We aim for a more historical drill and great immersion
