I’ve never played much of the first game, but when my brother defeated (with paint) the clock tower, he tried to climb up its arm and fell through. (The upper arm had no collision) I watched him burn in the thinner below, afterwards I told him to stay on the hand instead. Perfection~

Also the thinner route is far shorter too since on paint route you have to do most or all side quests while thinner you just skip all of them, you also can skip all exploration on thinner route and just get to the end as quickly as possible which yeah further solidifies the paint route being hard work that pays off while thinner is the easy lazy way out

these aren't the only times your paint/thinner capacity can increase; there is one part of the game where you confront the mad doctor who has three beetleworx generator machines. if you destroy them by thinning the eye that you see while their door is open, your thinner capacity increases. if you instead maneuver the ride vehicle so it flies off the tracks and into the doctor's face, your paint capacity increases

There's another 'thinner' way to defeat Captain Hook. Instead of turning the gears to make a path leading the bridge you can also make Hook to collide the walls and at like the third or fourth bump he'll start to dismantling himself

It would do a mixed ending, each cutscene at the end has it's own two version, so the scene for that boss will change if you use paint or thinner.
