It's beyond amazing. While it has its funny moments, it's actually a serious work, and I'd put it about probably 90-95% of what's being pushed nowadays. Acting, script, cinematography, musical score, and effects were all top-notch.

4:30 Physics computations can be pretty costly, so most collisions are in fact simply approximated by simple shapes like bounding boxes or cylinders. This makes the math super easy and the game can do a ton of it between each frame. But it's also look like complex objects, like humanoids, have a force field around them.

To answer your question as simply as I can its hitboxes. Objects in games have what is called hitboxes which are invisible barriers that determine where their collision points are. It can range from a box around the object to a layer the shape of the object around it. When two hitboxes collide it causes objects to become stuck together so npcs who walk into each other get stuck in each other's hitbox and because of their pathing can't move around it. In newer programing there's ways to avoid this but in older games and mmos it usually happens like that.

To (kinda) answer your question about the "field of space" around npc's...yeah, the glitch happens when their "spaces" inturrupt at a direct angle. In Skyrim, even the butterflies have a "field of space." Its tricky, but you can hop on top of one and ride it around.

"... seriously! You probably should listen to... (skip!)... this is important... (skip)" Also, the armor being sexier for the female character... how did I know that'd be covered 😆

Mike, if you like this, wait till you see the one where 'Greg the Garlic Farmer" (the shop NPC guy) finally wigs out over a customer saying "skip" too many times during his lines. He totally loses it and pulls a dagger on the player. And then there's "Baelin's Route" which is about a 25 minute long video of the fisherman becoming a total badass. All while being able to say nothing but "Nice day for fishin" in various tones and inflections.

Um, I think you were asking about Greg the Garlic Farmer at around 1:30-1:40. He's kind of "semi aware." Totally an NPC but does notice certain things, and act certain ways, etc.. Some of the others do the same a little bit later in the series, but Greg seems to be top on this

VLDL is fantastic! Their bored series is also great. Set in a tech store here in NZ (A real-life store at that). Also highly recommend FPS logic (Really high-quality production values on that one)
